Death is coming

The closer death creeps up upon me the less I am able to understand the reasons for life or living.

Yes I have experienced a close family member dying and unlike television it takes decades to handle such a thing. To think I am going to put my family through such a thing when I finally leave is more horrific to me than the thought of death itself.

My life was and is still a learning experience but when all said and done what am I to do with all this accumulated learning over my lifetime if I just die. There is no logic or reason to this.

Long ago I became aware that the God story that is sold to the majority is just a nice story to give mankind with a message of a basic layout of how nice life could be if everyone followed these ideas. Not many in life do and if one thinks about it the good and evil structures actually depend on each other. The good that can be experienced in life is only understood as good when there is it's opposite to compare it to. This is not rocket science only common sense in reality. I am not saying we need to experience bad but understanding in it is needed to appreciate the great things many of us can have in our lives. From birth to death there are many ways mankind helps his fellow man. How many ways can you help?

The Defiant Rain Drop

It was a heavy and wet morning when the trees let out quiet sighs, aching from the fresh weight of the evening's frost. A man sat in his study watching exhausted leaves tremble and fall, spilling light with each pirouette. It was a morning not unlike any other for this man. He rose at seven, as was his custom. Washed his face with cool water and prepared for the morning's conversation and walk with Mr. Wellington.

Mr. Wellington had been his morning companion for many years now, and preferred a rather specific route to initiate his business. The man had found Wellington in a shoebox behind an Arby's one late night. Grease had accumulated below the pups nose giving him a rather distinguished looking moustache of oil. The man figured a proper name was only appropriate for an animal of such noble birth.

Ten o'clock came quickly, and the ticking drip of the frost could be heard spilling onto the tin shed in his garden. A manila folder sat on his desk. A lifetime of thought, discipline, sacrifice, and struggle condensed into 42 pages. As he pulled onto the interstate a solitary drop of water clung to his window. Despite his speed the drop remained steady at his flank.

This brought pause to the man, and he looked back upon that solitary drop as he made his way towards the classroom.

There were many hands to shake, and all about him the man saw nothing but smiles followed by approving nods of recognition. It was as he had hoped. He tried with all that was him to be pleased, but he could think of nothing but the defiant drop. He felt it staring at him, or into him. He wondered would it be there when he returned.

As he made his way to the podium it became clear, and a wave of calm came over him that he hadn't felt in years. He smiled, closed the manila folder, and elegantly strode to the trash and dropped the folder in it.

His audience stood aghast, frightful and confused at what they had seen. The man bore even larger smile now as he made his way back to the podium.

His words were brief, but assured. They were received in utter silence for everyone now knew, without question, here was a man who's ideas were worthy of thought.

Friends, do not be afraid to be different. To think differently, to change your mind. What is that defiant water drop in your life? That hope, that dream, that stares back at you day and night? Begging for you to seize itself.

Chakra Meditation - Chakra Sound Secrets Revealed!

In Sanskrit, chakra means a spinning wheel or vortex. There is another meaning to chakra, which indicates the seven chakras of the human body that relate to the seven gland systems of the body. These chakras are centers of spinning energy with the first one on the base of the spine and the seventh one at the crown.

As the chakra is a center of spinning energy and something that moves, it causes vibrations. These vibrations cause sound and this is the reason why there is vibration in different parts of the body through chakra sounds of varying frequencies.

There are not only seven independent chakra sounds for the seven chakras but also seven colors associated with the different chakras. These colors also vibrate at different frequencies where both the chakra sound and color helps in the restoration of balance in the chakras. This in turn helps in the restoring of health.

Sound healing using chakra sounds is easy to do; all that is needed is you and your voice to make you feel clearer, better and calmer within minutes. All chakra sounds should be soft and gentle, for no longer than five minutes each.

1. The first chakra sound is UH, the deepest sound possible. This chakra sound has to be done with eyes closed and with attention on the spine base chakra, the base chakra. When chanting the chakra sound, you have to be aware of the sound resonance found in the chakra location and not from the throat. This chakra sound is associated with the color red and has to be chanted for one or two minutes, and not longer than five minutes.

2. The next chakra sound has to come from the second chakra found three inches below the naval. You have to chant OOO while complimenting the chakra sound with orange. You have to chant with eyes closed to experience the balancing of the chakra with other chakras for one or two minutes.

3. OH is the third chakra sound that has to come from the navel chakra located in the navel area. Yellow is the complimenting color and the chakra sound should start softly and gently, but with a higher tone than the last sound.

4. The heart chakra is found in the middle of the chest, and its chakra sound is AH. This is the sound that is emitted when in love, and this is why the heart chakra is usually related to love. This chakra sound can be complimented with the color green and should be started with a gentle and soft sound, that is however of a higher pitch than the last chakra sound.

5. The chakra sound for the throat chakra is EYE which has blue as its complimenting color. Like other chakra sounds, this chakra sound too has to be of a higher pitch than previous sounds

6. The chakra sound for the third eye found in the forehead between and slightly higher than the two eyes is AYE. The color that goes with this chakra sound is indigo. The chakra sound has to start with a soft and gentle tone, but with a higher pitch than the last sounds.

7. The crown chakra, found at the top of the head, demands the highest sound you can make. This chakra sound is EEE and is complemented with purple and starts by making the highest EEE sound possible. Like other chakra sounds, this chakra sound also starts soft and gentle.

All the chakra sounds have to be said with eyes closed and attention focused on the respective chakras. With the focus on the chakra, the chakra sound starts projecting from the chakra and with the resonance of the sound chakras, you find each chakra balancing and aligning with the other chakras.

You will feel light headed after this exercise with chakra sounds. This is why it is better to meditate or relax after this session. This way you will be able to reap the actual benefits chakra sounds offer you.

And, if you dwell on it, you may end up wallowing in it by watching a depressing movie, hanging out with negative friends, and so on. If you stay in this state long enough, you're going to build your life around negative circumstances without even realizing you're doing so.

However, it works the other way, too. Your life can become more positive and happy if you use positive affirmations and focus on the Law of Attraction's positive benefits. Above all, don't give up. Continue to see yourself as someone who is happy and fulfilled, and you'll see your life begin to change for the better -- in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if good things suddenly begin to pour in!

Working With Your Unconscious Mind

Research has shown that we only use an average of 10% of the full capacity of our mind power. This means the remaining 90% of your full potential remains untapped. Can you even imagine what you'd be capable of if you could access even a small portion of that remaining potential?

What is meant by power of mind? For a long time, scientists have known that there are people who can access these different parts of the unconscious mind and have a variety of abilities, perceptions and strengths. These abilities can include extrasensory and psychic abilities as well.

However, just because these people have displayed these abilities doesn't mean that they're special or different from everybody else. In fact, everyone can access their unconscious minds and develop their own gifts and powers, similarly.

Unfortunately, the majority of people possess these skills in a latent form. They remain locked in the unused ninety percent, but they are present behind those barriers.

How do you unlock your full potential, then? You need to free those latent skills and abilities, and you need to tap into that unused 90% of your unconscious. In fact, you may just find you can manifest what you desire most in life, and you could also unleash powers like remote viewing, telepathy, precognition, telekinesis, levitation and other 'super sensory' skills most people don't tap into.

How do you access your unconscious mind so that you can begin to explore and unleash these and other abilities?

Affirmations are one great way to do this. Affirmations simply tap into your unconscious mind, which is so very, very powerful. Every choice you make, everything you do, comes from a thought that originally manifested in your unconscious mind. It is processed and then moved into your conscious mind, where you can then act on the information in question.

Affirmations work because you can repeat these positive messages or phrases to yourself several times a day, and as you do this, your unconscious mind eventually picks up on what's being said and makes it useful to that unconscious part of your mind that's usually not part of your conscious attention. Your unconscious mind and the affirmation itself work together to make your conscious thoughts and your thought process in general more positive, more in tune with what you want, and more focused as well.

So for a moment, let's take a look at what you say to yourself. Do you say, for example, 'I can't afford it,' or 'I'll always be fat,' or, 'I don't deserve to be happy'? You can take what you say to yourself and change it to something positive so that ultimately, your unconscious mind will pick up on it and begin to make it happen in a positive way.

Visualization: Many people mistake visualization for simple day dreaming. There is a significant difference between the two and the biggest difference has to do with what you tell your unconscious mind you really want as opposed to what you already know is just a daydream.

Practice picturing yourself with the things you want in your life. You could change your entire life, your relationships, your level of abundance simply by visualizing yourself already enjoying the things you want to manifest. Once again your unconscious mind will take up the image and strive to create steps to make them happen for you.

Hypnosis: Hypnosis is perhaps the easiest way to access your unconscious mind. People all over the world have reported very positive results from using hypnosis for losing weight, quitting smoking, increasing self-esteem, attracting success or anything else you want.

You can do self-hypnosis as an easy way to develop your own mind powers, as you have time. Listen to recordings by trained hypnotherapists that will reinforce those affirmations you've worked to transfer to your unconscious mind.

Mental Health and Wellness - Things are NOT memories

Things are not memories nor are they the people who owned them, gave them too you, or left them behind. If you have read my blog or you know me, you will also know that my eldest son Ryan died in 2007. We are coming up to the 2 year anniversary (28th August, 2009). As you can imagine, working through such a life changing event, it's really important to take care of your mental health and wellness.

So why am I in a position to be an authority on this subject? If you have read some of my blog posts or know of me, you will also know that my eldest son Ryan died in 2007. We are coming up to the 2 year anniversary (28th August, 2009). Have you ever lost someone you loved? I bet most of you have, if it was someone really close to you, you may have been faced with the task of sorting through their possessions - clothes, books, personal items, mementos, sporting trophies.......all kinds of things. We all have a different strategy for dealing with this situation, some dive in and get it sorted straight away either due to necessity (the house needs to be sold or handed back to the landlord) or because you just want to 'get it done' others like to preserve the room as it was and spend time sitting in there remembering, others just can't face it at all. There are lots of scenarios and combinations of reasons and ideas around this. You just need to do what feels right for you. Above all it's one the times in your life when you truly need to take care of your personal mental health and wellbeing and that of your family.

In the months after Ryan's death the sight of his room and his things certainly bought me to tears, it was hard to believe one of my gorgeous boys no longer walked this earth, no longer here for me to hug and tell him I love him 'lots and lots and more and more and lots and lots' (a tradition from when the boys were little and asked 'how much to do you love me Mummy?'); he was no longer here slamming doors (he was noisy as he went about his business) and lighting up rooms, bringing smiles to people's faces and laughing with that wonderful contagious laugh. He chatted incessantly, till I would ask him for the edited version of a story and he was passionate about the things that were important to him. He thought his younger brother Bryce was fabulous, they were best mates. He loved a family or social occasion; he was an all round nice guy - loved by all who had the pleasure of spending time with him.

At that time I was experiencing all kinds of emotions, sometimes I was sad beyond words, others I was angry or felt guilty (after all I was a Mum I should have been able to make this right) I had times of total disbelief and others of inconsolable grief and despair. All part of the process of dealing with the unthinkable. I was so lucky to have a good grounding in mental health and wellness, given my past training plus a wonderful support network, yet some days were just plan hard. Over time I had the odd better moment, then maybe a day when I didn't cry, eventually I had more good days than sad days, and finally life took on a new normal. I had chosen to live my life. In fact my son had set a fabulous example he had lived a life of joy and enthusiasm.

At that time I was experiencing all kinds of emotions, sometimes I was sad beyond words, others I was angry or felt guilty (after all I was a Mum I should have been able to make this right) I had times of total disbelief and others of inconsolable grief and despair. A few months after Ryan's death I had decided to sort through his clothes, however others who were very close to Ryan were not ready for that and I packed them back into the wardrobe again. Time went by and for a long while it just felt too hard. However in recent months the room started to feel 'heavy' for me and I knew I needed to make a move. Funny how not doing it was preserving my mental health and wellness at one point and then later not doing it was having a different impact! I floated the idea with Bryce (my younger son) who offered to help and we spent a day together in Ryan's room sorting through everything, school books, photos, clothes, soccer and cricket trophies, paperwork, things from his 3 months traveling the world. We created piles of things we thought would be special to others, kept some things we just couldn't throw or give away yet and everything else was bundled up and taken to the local charity shop - I was feeling so much lighter. Thank goodness Bryce is not a hoarder either! We moved the future into the shed, including the desk my parents gave me on my 8th birthday (it was way past time to let that one go) and it is all being collected by a charity for re -gifting or resale.

So why am I telling you all of this - because it struck me that we often 'hang on' to things in our life as a representation of a memory or person. We won't part with things we no longer have use for because Great Aunt Dorothy gave that to us, or it belonged to a grandparent or parent. We equate the thing with a memory, the person or feeling, however things are NOT the memory they may provoke the memory when we hold or look at them. If we let go of all the things we no longer have a use for we do not let go of the memory, that memory stays with us forever and can be recalled whenever we like. I believe this also has a very positive impact on our individual mental health and wellness and of course the flow on effect to those around us.

The room now feels lighter, there is a different bed in there with a different quilt, and it is uncluttered and has a whole new feel. I am planning to put something new on the wall and maybe even paint it a fresh new colour. Ryan's room is now a spare room or guest room in our home.

So why am I telling you all of this - because it struck me that we often 'hang on' to things in our life as a representation of a memory or person. So let's be real about this, if I kept everything that Ryan ever owned how would that help me? A room of clutter that was not useful to anyone and held me and my family stuck in the sadness of our loss. In letting go of the 'things' I feel lighter and freer and have gifted everything that was useful to others and kept the things Bryce or I were not yet ready to let go of, I have no doubt over time that collection will also diminish. I have wonderful memories of my gorgeous boys; both of them, of the joy of being their Mum and watching them grow into wonderful young men, making their way in the world having some interesting learning experience, what a gift. As a Mum I don't need anything to remember every moment of my time with them.

So what are you holding onto in your life that could be used by someone else, what baggage are you holding onto either physically or emotionally. I believe part of living an outrageously healthy life is finding appropriate ways to deal with life's challenges. Let's face it not every moment of our lives is filled with sweetness and light, it's a life of contrast. We have a fabulous opportunity while on this earth to share of ourselves with the world in all our magnificence. So this is my gift to you today 'Things are not memories nor are they the people who owned them, gave them too you, or left them behind!' Give yourself the gift of letting go of any baggage either physical or emotional, allow yourself to experience the joys of mental health and wellness everyday, and live your best, most outrageously healthy life.

Astral Projection Techniques Explored

There are numerous astral projection techniques that individuals can use to assist them with astral project. Due to the fact of people being individuals, what is successful for one may not be for another. Several people have trouble with some of the methods though, and not due to the method, it is because they can't relax.

Complete and total relaxation is essential to making any astral projection techniques successful. Part of the reason for the inability to relax is fear. This is very common with those that are just starting to relearn how to astral project. This fear comes from false beliefs that a person could die or be harmed because of the astral projection. In an effort to help squash those fears the Canterbury Institute, who is known for their occult studies, conducted a research study.

The study was performed on two thousand individuals, all of these people were involved in doing astral projection. The institute discovered was that no person was harmed following astral projection techniques. What is more interesting is that they did follow up on the people for the last 3 years. Not one have had any problems.

Now that any concerns or fears should be gone, let's examine several different types of astral projection techniques, which are quite simple and have worked for several people. The 1st one is called the Monroe Technique. There are 7 primary steps to this particular astral projection technique.

* You must relax your body and your mind. There are numerous relaxation techniques that you can use. A simple one is just deep breathing, slowly and calmly. Deep inhales and deep exhales. Relaxing all the muscles in the body one at a time by tensing them and then releasing them, starting at the toes and working your way up the body.

* Go into what is called the hynagogic state. This is where your body and mind are almost asleep. You don't desire to go to sleep. Use the gazing method to accomplish this. As you lie in bed focus on an object and remain staring until when your eyes close that you still can picture the object.

* Once you see the object with your eyes closed you are going to need to deepen the state you are in. The best way to do this is to look around (keeping your eyes closed) and see what you can see. It is possible that you may see different light patterns, you may notice that the room is cloaked in a purple light. Don't pay to much attention to it, once you stop seeing the light you will know that you have entered a deeper state. You are so completely relaxed at this point that you will no longer be aware of your physical body. This is important according to the Monroe technique of astral projection.

* According to Monroe, this step is the most vital. You will need to enter the state of Vibration. Many people that have been practicing astral projection techniques for awhile note that they feel these vibrations early on in the projection. It is believed by them that this is the feeling you experience when the astral body begins to leave the physical body. Do not be alarmed, just feel the vibrations.

* Control the vibration state. To accomplish this concentrate on the vibrations and succeed in getting them to move through the body. You do this using your mind, your desire is for your whole body to have the vibrations, like waves rolling over you. It will take practice for you to encourage these waves to start as you want. Once you can do this step you are ready to exit your body.

* The key component to astral projection and astral travel is to have control, that your mind is the one in power. To help strengthen this control Monroe recommends at this point you practice a "partial separation." Keeping your mind focused on the idea of leaving the physical body, first let a hand or a foot go of the astral body. Stretch them to an object that is near you, such as the wall, the floor or another familiar object, then push your hand or foot through that object. Once you do that, return your foot or hand back to the physical body, slow down the vibrations and end the session. Stay laying down until your body has returned to a fully awake state.

* With this step you will finally leave your body. Follow steps one through six. This time your whole body will be used, not just a foot. Move completely into your astral body. A simple adjustment to step six is required. This time you are focusing on releasing the astral body instead of one appendage. Focus on releasing the astral body Thinking how light it feels. As weightless as a cloud, you can float like a feather in a light breeze. Now the astral body should move out and away from the physical body, you feel as though you are floating, or even flying.

There are more ways you can attempt this, as in the Gazing Method, the Anchor Technique, and the Rope Technique. Try out some different methods to discover which one will be best for you. An astral projection technique exists for everyone.

You will see though that not all people are able to do astral project right off the bat using the techniques listed and a lot of practice is required for some of these.

However, a shortcut is available. Because of recent developments in the field of technology, there are many audio tools which can help you. New special sound frequencies known as Binaural beats, can synchronize the brains two hemispheres allowing an instant state of meditation, when needed for astral projection.

You can also get into the totally relaxed state needed by listening to quality astral projection techniques hypnosis recordings. These reinforce to the subconscious mind that it is okay for your astral body to leave your physical body.

Astral projection is a real life changing happening for everyone that attempts it and by utilizing these techniques anyone who wants to can experience it.

Astral Projection - The Silver Cord To Another World

Astral projection is something that you already have some awareness of. No doubt you've heard the phrase used in conversation, in a movie or TV program or seen it in a book or magazine. What you might not know is that you can astral project; anyone can, in fact. Youve already done so, though you might not remember it.

In order to determine if you have had an astral projection experience or to begin learning to astral project it is important to understand what astral projection is. Simply put astral projection is when your spirit body leaves your physical body. This is something that happens naturally at night when you are asleep, but it is possible for you to do it consciously and control the journey of your spirit body.

Many children actually astral project without being aware of what they are doing. It happens usually when the body is relaxed or even when they are asleep. Time and distance do not mean anything when talking about astral projection. The astral body can travel without these considerations.

This astral plane rapidly vibrates more than the physical Earth does and these particular vibrations go all the way to the Earth's core. There is another belief though that another dimension or alternate reality is the meaning of astral plane. After learning this information, it is only natural to start to wonder if there are any dangers to astral project. The answer is not as simple as a straightforward yes or no. While astral projection is something that everyone is capable of doing and that the astral body is attached to the physical body by a tie that can only be broken by death there is still a need to remain conscience of what is going on while astral projecting and be in a state to maintain that frame of mind.

Let me caution you here, if your mind is in a dark place or not right then it becomes dangerous to astral project. If you are taking drugs or drinking alcohol it is not wise to astral project because you could wind up in some bad places. The lower levels of the astral plane contain the places that are bad.

It is vital that you understand where you desire going and exactly what you are participating in. You need to strive on doing astral projection using your conscious mind. Stay in total control as far as what task that the astral body is performing. Your thoughts and thinking processes are what keeps you in this kind of control.

There are a number of ways to get prepared to do astral projection prior to starting it. Several professionals can be found to assist you in learning various techniques so that you get to the point where you have better control so that you have a gratifying experience, but on this note people usually rather be in their own house while doing astral projection.

The internet has a wealth of information on astral projection and there are a number of books, which describe a number of techniques that can be used in order to prepare the mind and body for astral projection. There are even recordings that use hypnosis to assist in astral projection. There is an advantage to these types of recordings. You can have them play on repeat giving people who may find it difficult to prepare the time necessary to reach the appropriate state of mind; this extra time might not be available if professional sessions are used.

In the field of sound technology there have been many improvements in the area of binaural beats. With this you listen to different sounds in each of your ears. This quickly gets you into the meditative state that is crucial for you to reach to do astral projection with the right results.

If you are unable to astral project at first, do not be concerned. It is something that requires practice to be able to do. It is important to remember that this is not actually an acquired skill but something that is already known to each person. They simply need to remember how to astral project and then to practice in order to obtain a level of proficiency.

Five Foundations Of A Christian Worldview

Faithful Christians typically share five traditions that generate a worldview that shapes the nature of their beliefs. This worldview may also contain characteristics that other people perceive as factors which, in fact, define a person as a Christian. The following is not intended to be a creed or the final word on the matter, but a reliable guide on Christian beliefs.

The first aspect of such a worldview is belief in one God, monotheism, and an over-riding love of the deity who is specifically responsible for all creation. With this as the foundation of a Christian worldview, for example, an individual's opinion of concepts that do not acknowledge God or that do not recognize the source of creation will lead to a lack of acceptance for those ideas.

The following factor in a Christian worldview is acceptance of Jesus as the son of God and the only salvation for humans, in the sense that Jesus is the means to everlasting life in heaven. In order to be a "Christian," the meaning of the term requires literal faith in Jesus as a personal savior. This affects a man or woman's worldview in multiple ways, primarily in the contexts of knowing that others who believe in Jesus are also saved, that those who refuse this belief are not part of the church community, and that there may be a need for instructing others about the Christian faith.

The third element of outlining a worldview for the Christian faith is a belief in the Holy Ghost (or Spirit) as the working presence of God's power, especially as demonstrated in the acts of the apostles. This leads to the need for good works, or positive actions, through the church and within the community. A Christian approach to living will develop active expressions of one's faith to affect other individuals.

The fourth component of such a worldview would be the notion of Christians as people of the book, biblios, the Bible. The Bible functions as a source of inspiration and specifically describes the point of view that each Christian should use to evaluate the events of their lives. The New Testament shows people how to believe, think, and act in order to be Christians which, in turn, forms one's worldview.

And the fifth element is the teaching that Christians are to show their "love" for other people in every avenue of their lives. From the basis of choosing to love one's neighbors, a Christian worldview accepts that all things will in the end demonstrate God's love for his faithful, that belief in Jesus is the way to everlasting life, and that Christians can express that love through their actions toward others.

An outlook on the world evolving from the aforementioned Christian principles may lead to the personal revelation that God will take care of all things in His time, and that belief in Jesus, faith in the communion of the church, and actions that express love toward others will result in a peaceful and joy-filled life, though not without common sufferings of the spirit and the body. And it is the sure blessing of salvation through Jesus that gives enduring meaning to the Christian worldview.

Can I Really Astral Project?

Everyone has the ability to astral project. There are those who astral project daily and those who rarely astral project, at least intentionally " the difference between the two is practice. Astral projection is a practice with a long history, just like meditation or yoga. There are many different names which astral projection is known as and there are many different ways to astral project.

The initial level of astral projection is lucid dreaming. This type of dreaming is dreaming consciously and is known as the first phase of astral projection. By telling yourself 'I am dreaming', the simplest form of projection can be achieved.

Saying this key phrase 'I am dreaming' over and over again, allows you to wake up in your dream and do anything you desire. This may take time to learn and can be difficult, so don't be discouraged.

It is believed that astral projection is very real and that most people have already projected even though they don't realize it. If you have ever woken up in the middle of the night and recalled a dream as if it was real, this is a form of astral projection.

Believing that you can project is the key to achieving it. This faith eliminates doubts and fears about astral projection and helps you to easily achieve projection.

Methods that help you to relax like meditating helps to promote projection. Meditation prepares the mind and body for astral projection and all it takes is practice and time through meditating properly.

If you are wondering where to begin when it comes to meditation, try sitting in a comfortable chair in a peaceful place. When you are relaxed, clear your mind, if stress or work pops into your head, push it out and focus on nothing. Focus on your breathing and make it deep and slow. Let your troubles leave your mind through your mouth as you breathe out. This will allow you to reach the relaxed state perfect for astral projection.

Reaching an alternate state of consciousness is the next step. Continue to work on breathing and now your primary goal is to remove stress and completely clear your mind. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. As breathing becomes slower and deepens, focus on your body and relaxing it.

Focus on separate areas of the body, beginning with your toes. Tense each part of the body and relax as you work your way up from your toes to your head. As you exhale, tell yourself, 'my arms are relaxing and I am relaxing.'

At this point, you will start to feel heavy almost as if energy is leaving your body. As you get to this point, and you are completely relaxed, you will know that it is time to move on to the next step of astral projection.

The next step, sleep. You have prepared your mind and body for s deep sleep, but remember to stay alert and relaxed. Come up with your own phrase such as 'I fly, I fly' there is no wrong motto, so find one that you are comfortable with.

Boredom tends to set in when the mind is not stimulated, so you may find yourself losing focus. If you find yourself doing this, stop the session or to help bring your mind back into focus, continue to repeat your phrase.

There are different ways to achieve a state of altered consciousness. You can repeat your chosen phrase or do it another way. Imagine a glowing light, and then imagine you entering it and transforming yourself into this body of light. This is referred to as the body of light technique.

You can count on experiencing three main feelings that will let you know that you have reached astral projection, the first is the sensation that you are moving. The second is when you see lights and colors with closed eyes and the third, are voices you hear that either encourage you to keep going or to stop, this lets you know that you have achieved astral projection.

Explaining What A Lucid Dream Is

In simple terms, if one has a dream and they're actually aware of the fact that they're dreaming, then that is known as a lucid dream. In the context of dreaming, 'lucid' means being aware or conscious. The lucidity of a dream however can vary dramatically depending on the dream itself and how much influence you have in controlling the dream.

Without a doubt, the most remarkable aspect of lucid dreaming is that one is able to actually identify the fact that you're having a dream. Having the ability to control the direction of a dream is simply astounding to say the least, particularly because there are virtually no limits.

Can you even begin to imagine what it must be like, considering that everything which happens in a lucid dream looks, sounds, and even feels just as you would expect it to in reality. Of course the difference between a lucid dream and reality is that in a lucid dream one cannot die or become injured, irrespective of what you decide to get up to. To a great extent, by mastering the art of lucid dreaming, you're taking control of your own private world of virtual reality.

It simply cannot be denied that lucid dreaming is a skill which can only be described as being fantastic. It's hardly surprising really that so many people are now longing to master the art of lucid dreaming. Interestingly enough, most people will have the occasional lucid dream but just imagine if you could experience one whenever you want.

A lucid dream can in many ways be compared to a gateway to the most fantastic experiences, where one is able to meet and mix with your favorite celebrities, or mingle with wild and exotic animals, or even travel to distant galaxies.That's right, you can explore all your fantasy world's or you can visit your lost loved ones.

Unfortunately, experiencing regular lucid dreams where you have the ability to control them has until recently been a fairly complicated process. In fact, many people had no option but to spend months undergoing instruction and learning how to condition themselves. Even then, while many people did manage to experience lucid dreams, even if only for brief moments, others never succeeded at all.

Can one find simple ways which make it possible to experience a lucid dream?

Interestingly enough, there are many people who believe certain foods such as orange juice, cheese, milk, and mustard, have the ability to help induce a lucid dream, providing they are consumed immediately before you lie down to sleep.

Over and above those foods which have just been mentioned, many people claim that foods such as popcorn, pickles, fish and ice cream can also help those wanting to experience a lucid dream. While these foods may not be as effective as those mentioned above, it is believed they do help with regards to dream recall. Of course, from a health point of view these foods may not be ideal, considering that most of them contain a lot of fat, sugar, and salt.

Can technology help people to experience lucid dreaming?

In the not too distant past this would have been virtually impossible, although modern technology is now able to assist one with regards to lucidity. Interestingly enough, there are now certain devices which have the ability to recognize REM (rapid eye movement) and when they do, they respond with a blinking red diode in order to stimulate and induce a lucid dream. By integrating the red beam of light with the dream, a person is reminded of the fact that they're having a dream and as such, they can then try to control it.

In addition to these new the innovative devices, recent developments in some technology have also done much in the line of opening the doors to the world of lucid dreams. Just recently scientists have gone ahead and developed a process known as binaural beats; a process which involves playing sound at different frequencies into each ear.

Essentially, this intriguing new process aims to synchronize the two hemispheres in the brain and the amazing thing is; results are almost instantaneous in that rapid eye movement occurs almost immediately when one starts listening to these binaural beats. The state of sleep where REM takes place is of course the state of sleep required for lucid dreaming.

Of course, what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another, but you can be rest assured that if you're interested in learning how to master the art of lucid dreaming, then this is by far the most reliable method available.

Clocks, Dolls, and Other Spy Cameras

Slate and Artstone - That innocent looking wall clock staring at you from the wall might be more menacing than you think. Is it staring...or is it watching? And who is it telling?

Cameras are being placed everywhere, and nobody is telling us about them. They are being hidden in vases, teddy bears, televisions, and even innocuous wall clocks. Corporations are hiding them to protect their treasures, or to monitor our shopping habits. Governments are tracking our movements, and now, even private individuals are starting to watch us.

That's right; the power of surveillance is now in the hands of the average person on the street. With the prevalence of mini spy cams now being offered at very affordable prices, the ability to secretly watch us is now available to anyone with a couple of extra dollars to spend. And where are these responsible citizens placing their new spy toys?

Some people have innocent enough desires. The most common use of a spy cam is to monitor babysitters and housekeepers while you are at work. It is a basic enough desire. In a world short on trust, it is difficult to hand over your most prized possessions and even your children to random strangers claiming to be nannies.

But many clever people are thinking outside of the box, and are using these spy cameras to take explicit images of people in very private places.

Aside from merely monitoring the short skirts in the neighborhood on a windy day, some people are sneaking into bathrooms and dressing rooms and installing these mini devices in order to take explicit, and highly illegal photographs of those trusting enough to expose themselves.

So what is the answer? Tentative vigilance or outright paranoia? Whenever you are outside of the security of your home, be aware that you may be on camera. However, it may not really matter. If we are all on camera all of the time, then there is a certain equality in that.

Eventually we may discover some technology that will reveal hidden cameras and other transmission devices. Unfortunately, until that time, the wall clock sitting above the mantel may not be as unassuming as you think.
