Death is coming

The closer death creeps up upon me the less I am able to understand the reasons for life or living.

Yes I have experienced a close family member dying and unlike television it takes decades to handle such a thing. To think I am going to put my family through such a thing when I finally leave is more horrific to me than the thought of death itself.

My life was and is still a learning experience but when all said and done what am I to do with all this accumulated learning over my lifetime if I just die. There is no logic or reason to this.

Long ago I became aware that the God story that is sold to the majority is just a nice story to give mankind with a message of a basic layout of how nice life could be if everyone followed these ideas. Not many in life do and if one thinks about it the good and evil structures actually depend on each other. The good that can be experienced in life is only understood as good when there is it's opposite to compare it to. This is not rocket science only common sense in reality. I am not saying we need to experience bad but understanding in it is needed to appreciate the great things many of us can have in our lives. From birth to death there are many ways mankind helps his fellow man. How many ways can you help?

Life After Death: Are We Forgiven, Or Blamed?

"Is my Mum at peace, now she has crossed over? She died when I was very young and living with my Nanna. Am I to blame? Does she forgive me? I need to know she's okay, watching over us and at peace". This question to "Afterlife Phil G" comes from England, and Phil shares his view on this.

Writes another [USA] "Weeks before my husband died (unexpectedly), a thought came in my head that he was going to die of a heart attack. Not long after this he died in his sleep (heart). Should I have taken this as a warning? Am I to blame? I need to know he forgives me. I know visits are possible. Should I have used this 'whisper' to save him?

Phil replies: "When someone crosses over, I feel sure they do not blame us or judge us harshly. So you need to stop thinking those things, and let that go. They accept us as we are, and accept what happened. I feel they have a greater understanding of things, and can see far more than we can imagine. Like a parent who understands their teenage child better than they think, and accepts some things in light of the bigger picture. I find this often in 'reading's.

Whenever I write an article or reply along these lines, there's any number of people who may laugh at my words, but I want YOU to be the judge, to be the proof. You don't need to take my word for it. On my web site I share much free information about contacting the afterlife. I have coached many in my simple technique, of recognizing the signs of contact from family in the Afterlife, and it is from this perspective that I help people to go a step further and ASK or share their concerns of guilt or blame, with the person they miss on 'the other side' and ask for verification to confirm they are not imagining it.

You see, you MAY say I wouldn't know, but you can't say that about yourself. You don't have to write to me, or see a psychic. Follow my advice on the web (philg.net.au). Once you've started understanding the contact you're already having with family and friends in the afterlife, then you can move on. You just ASK them your concerns.

For the lady who lost her husband, talk to him about your warning of a heart attack. For the lady who lost her mother when she was a child, talk to her about your feelings. You were just a child, so I am sure there will be a flood of emotions and thoughts. Talk to them about what's on your mind. In your head, or talk out loud, it doesn't matter. My video 'CoffeeTime' (see 'Afterlife Phil G' on YouTube) provides a good environment to do this, or when you're relaxed and lulling off to sleep, talk to them about what's on your mind. Share your feelings.

You will get caught up in the emotion, but that's fine. Let it happen, flow. Stay in the moment, and forget about the world for a few minutes. That's the reason we don't hear from loved ones in the Afterlife - we're too busy and rushed and concerned about things. Now you're in that moment, let it flow and shut everything else out. Don't worry about if it's real, or imagined.

You will find that, if not immediately, certainly gradually as you stay 'connected', that in between your own words and thoughts, you get images, words, feelings, coming into your mind, randomly, unexpectedly, from no-where. Don't block them. Don't try to analyze them. Don't ask what they mean. Just let those thoughts mingle. If it starts to make sense, go with the flow of the thoughts. Once you start doing this, it becomes really easy. A bit like having a conversation with a friend that starts with boats and ends up talking about cars, and you don't really know how you changed the subject.

Thoughts, images, words, or feelings that randomly enter your head are from the person in the afterlife you want to connect with. Prove it yourself (much information on my web site to help you). The thing here is to accept things as they come through, even if you're not sure or it doesn't make sense. In your cases, I am sure you will feel an enormous weight off your shoulders. You will feel forgiveness and calming, and you can feel it. Now follow my advice to confirm that feeling is real.

"Ghost", the film from the 1980's staring Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze, shows how Patrick Swayze's character still wants to be part of her life, to help her, comfort her, protect her, despite the fact he has died. He struggles to show her that he is with her, because she expects too much proof. Finally it's a silly random remark that shocks her into belief - but she nearly missed the chance. As shown in the film, certainly not all psychics are sincere, but there are some who want to help, and confirm that loved ones who have crossed over are with you - now. Anytime you want them or they want to warn you of something. And regardless of the issues, concerns, or words you want to share, they can hear you, talk to you, and you can verify the experience yourself. - Phil G

Identifying the Phases Of A Breakup

Shock and denial

This may be a combination of how dare they? And oh no!They did not. Whatever form this stage takes it can feel as though someone has dumped a bucket of ice cold water over your head. Denial can give the urge to engage in self-destructive activities or constant rounds of hang up calls to his or her voice mail. Avoid this like the plague. Instead don't call your ex, don't text, and don't email.

Anger

This is wholly normal and tolerable to feel after the end of a relationship. You may invest in voodoo dolls, think devilishly deceitful thoughts about her, call up your best friend and spend hours talking about all the things he or she did wrong, or only rip up and burn all your photographs. Either way anger is healthy to a certain amount but avoid tremendous or threatening behavior.

Depression

This is the best known of all stages of a breakup and one that can be the most critical if you allow it to be. While it is natural to be depressed if you are having thoughts of harming yourself during this time be sure to get help immediately.

Things you can do to evade letting things get too low is plan outings with friends, avoid spending time alone, begin taking classes, or join a relaxation group. Do anything to fill your hours and keep you from spending hours home by yourself thinking about your ex.

Acceptance

The final and best of the stages of a breakup is often referred to as acceptance. This is when you reach the point that you can view your relationship objectively and realize that there was no one person that was all good or bad in the relationship.

This is the time when you can look back on the happy memories and be glad you had the opportunity to love and be loved by this person. Perhaps this is the time when you decide that you were not all that bad together and you would like one more chance.

I Have Been a Jerk, How Can I Win My Girlfriend Back?

There are of course certain situations which occur from time to time that at best, could be described as a struggle. One such particular struggle is when we try to get our girl back after we've really blown it.

So what did you do? Did you cheat? Were you neglectful? Selfish? Or just unlucky? The questions could go on. Whichever or whatever you did, if you seriously want to get girl back, you're going to have to sort yourself out!

Because this advice which I'm about to share with you is for the most part counter- initiative, you may very well find it extremely difficult to do. Ideally, you should allow her some time to herself by leaving her alone. In many cases where this approach is taken, your ex will eventually realize just how much they miss you and as a result they will agree to give the relationship another chance.

Whenever you do, don't brush this possibility to the side irrespective of whether or not it appears that all is lost at present. If it works, it works and if it doesn't work, then it doesn't.

If however you would rather take a more direct approach at getting your girl back, then you really need to take some time out first. This will allow you time to get your head salted out while at the same time, you'll be giving her some time to think as well.

During this time out, you may want to spend time with friends or family. Whatever you do, you definitely don't want to be pestering her by sending her e-mails and text messages. Neither should you "accidentally" bump into in places where you know she's likely to show up. Rather than work in your favor, these tactics will more than likely drive her further away.

If you neglected her, missed her birthday, hardly ever took her out, then you need to seriously look at that behavior. No girl worth her salt is going to put up with such behavior.

Women love being made a fuss of, and they want their man to make them feel special. Also, they want to be sure that you want to be with them for more than just one reason, and if you fail to do that, they'll be on the way to look for someone who can.

Maybe you were simply spending a lot of time with your mates and as such, you don't really believe that you were doing anything wrong. Perhaps you were all perhaps you weren't, but the truth is; that's not the way one treats a lady if she's important to you. If you were guilty of this but you'd still like to win back your girl, then I'm not being funny, but you need to get yourself sorted out.

Essentially, in order to win back your girl, you need to behave in such a way so as to show her that you are capable of understanding her needs and desires. Whatever you do, don't waste her time or your own by trying to win her back under false pretenses. Even if you succeed, it won't last for long, and the next time she leaves, she'll probably be gone for ever.

Use Your Head Instead of Your Heart to Get Your Ex Back

If you're serious about finding a way to win back love, then it means you're going to have to start using your head and stop following your heart! It really is that simple.

So let's look at this! Your heart is no doubt telling you to drop everything, chase down your ex and make them listen to what you have to say, whether they want to or not.

Your heart feels like all that needs to happen is for your ex to listen and understand how you feel and that your ex will just forget everything that may be wrong with the relationship and then just simply re-start the relationship. However, this is not the case.

To win back love your head would never tell you to do any of that, instead your head would say back off, get a grip and take your time. Guess which one you should be listening to! Yep, your head!

Leave your ex to himself or herself at this time, do not call, do not plan any accidental meetings when you know your ex will be some place particular and do not write love letters to them. Do not try to contact them in any way.

By contacting them, you're making yourself appear desperate, a pain in the butt and someone that no right minded person would even want to be around never mind consider dating again.

When it comes to your ex, you want to increase your value like that rare diamond that is worth more than any other jewel. Give your ex time to wonder where you may be, what you are doing and why you have not tried to contact them. Give this time and before you realize it, your ex will want to contact you.

If you're stuck with a problem and the first person you would usually call is your ex, then you're going to have to figure out how to solve that problem yourself. Not only does this enhance your standing with your ex, because they realize that you can cope on your own, but it also enhances your own standing in your own head.

If you figure out how to cook that favorite meal that your ex used to cook for you � you realize you can cope! If you figure out how to change the oil in your car � again you realize that you can cope!

You can win back love using calmness and good judgment. After doing so, your ex will feel more at ease about contacting you himself or herself. Allowing your passions to run rampant will only lead you to your own disadvantages of getting your ex back.

Tell your heart to hush up and listen to your head, if you want to win back your ex and resume your relationship.

"I was recently asked by Joe, in Australia, how to help a friend accept the loss of his wife. He asks: "Everything has been kept the same as if she was still living in the house. Is this wrong?"

"It depends on the age of the person involved. If we are talking about a younger person, who still has their life ahead of them, there is a point where they should move on, let go, but they don't have to live life without being able to contact them. Accepting of the situation, yes, but still being able to retain contact.

For parents who have suffered the loss of a child, or for older people who have lost their partner, it can be of enormous comfort to leave a room untouched, and be able to walk into it and feel as if they are still in the room. This is not just a wish but a reality, and if you follow my advice, you will be able to feel them in the room and verify it.

A View of Grief and Loss

Grief and loss are typically associated with death and dying, usually involving the loss of a loved one. But the category can also encompass loss of job, home or relationship as additional dimensions of experience. Grief resources and recovery programs are subsumed under this umbrella and are usually designed to help us with all aspects of loss.

Losing a loved one is what we typically associate with grief and loss. But losses of many types can also generate powerful grief reactions. We include here broken relationships, loss of a pet and loss of employment. When the loss experience strikes we immediately want relief and begin seeking some kind of recovery help.

Today we can see grief and loss associated with divorce, relationship breakup, pet grief and loss of employment. We can also see associations with the loss of ones home, place of business and career aspirations as some hopes and dreams never materialize. We tend not to see these as grief and loss categories, but in fact they are losses that affect us in similar ways as losing a loved one.

The main point of this article is that dealing with grief and loss has a lot of common dimensions over all of its related categories. We mourn the loss of a loved one. We grieve the loss of a pet. We agonize over a broken relationship. We become depressed at the loss of our job.

What is the central point here? Why do we examine grief and loss from all these points of view? Because at the heart of every crisis is an emotional wound. We feel hurt, depressed and sad. We feel lost and afraid. Something we valued has been taken away. We feel pain associated with any loss and that usually elicits anger as a first response. These reactions are typical in every type of grief and loss experience.

It becomes obvious that grief and loss affects many aspects of our life experience. Acknowledging this and accepting responsibility for our recovery from such stress reveals itself as necessary. We can regain our energy and drive by working through the effects of grief and loss. Since the experience is more common than previously thought, any effort we make to deal with grief and loss will have benefits across the breadth of our lives.

The cycle of life includes gaining, losing and gaining again. For example, when a snake crawls into the tall grass to shed its old skin, it's because the new is emerging from underneath and pressing for release. Losses are typically categorized as devastating when, in fact, they are often a prelude to something better. Learning to let go, no matter what the cicumstances is a valuable life lesson.

Losing a loved one is a powerful and devastating experience and one we never solicit consciously. This is the most difficult of all losses and we acknowledge that it is hard to see any benefit in it. But losing and gaining are with us everyday in a great variety of forms. Learning to cope with all types of loss will help us when the big losses strike. Finding the right resources is essential to managing our grief and loss experience.

Dealing with our emotions is central to the recovery process, no matter what type of loss you encounter. Turning to each other for comfort and solace can bring peace and new found friendships. All times of trial have their secret benefits. That is the main lesson from grief and loss.

I Broke up with Her, Now I Want my Girlfriend Back

Dumped your girlfriend? Now you want her back. You will need to act quickly. But you dont want to make the same mistakes that most guys do when they are trying desperately to get their ex-girlfriends back.

In trying to win her back youve probably have been sending her gifts, expensive gifts. Your way of telling her how much she means to you and a desperate attempt to win her back.

Chances are none of that has worked, because to be honest it's pretty old hat and your girlfriend wants to see something more honest and much more innovative from you.

Its likely you will need to jump some hoops before your dumped ex-girlfriend will consider taking you back. Even if she is desperate to have you back. You did dump her and its going to be difficult to get over how she feels about that.

There is no question or doubt, you may seriously have hurt her pride and feelings. And she will act accordingly. It will depend on how badly you want her back which will determine how prepared you will be to accept the consequences.

Before you know it, you have a dumped girlfriend and you're living with regret. So perhaps this is the situation that you have to explain to your ex girlfriend. If it is, again, be honest.

What you must guard against in a situation where you were clearly in the wrong and you over reacted, is that you don't become her punching bag. Don't allow her to use you as an emotional vessel into which she pours out all her frustrations and anger just because she can. So doormat out, understanding and apologetic guy in!

Chances that you both have feelings for each other is good and you will get back together again. You may have dumped your girlfriend, but let her know that you sincerely want to start over again and are not reacting to guilt feelings about dumping her.

I Sense Him Near - But How Do I Know? Phil G Talks About Life After Death

Afterlife Phil G shares his mailbag to help Lisa from Britain to connect with her father in the Afterlife: "I lost my father, I sense him near, but my thoughts are so mixed up I can't actually know if it's his thoughts or mine..."

"Sensing contact with the afterlife doesn't mean you can easily understand or believe the contact is real or clear, especially if it's someone very close to you - you need to find a way to verify things the contact is real, and not just imagined."

I had the same problem (visitors to my website on contacting the afterlife will know my discovery was accidental, back in 2002) and it's why I developed my simple technique. Firstly, if you sense him around, then he's there. I know some would think that's a nave statement, but it's true and you can verify it yourself in time.

I assume you're past the stage of believing in life after death, and family and friends in the Afterlife are contactable. So we'll move on to knowing the difference between your own thoughts, and those of someone who's 'coming through' to you. The first step, even if you're pretty good at 'feeling' a connection, is to become relaxed. Like a deep meditation phase.

On my web site on contacting the afterlife, I share many ideas to help, most of it free, including instructions, a YouTube video, and a list of books and guides to help. But the starting point is relaxing. I find it hard to get clear detail if I am busy, rushed, or thinking about too many things. So the first step is to be very relaxed, to the point of not being aware of anything else around you. Whilst I suggest my own audio guide "Contact Family in the Afterlife yourself", any meditation will do.

In order to get clear messages or feelings is to discern the difference between the thoughts in your head, and the INCOMING thoughts. One key is to not ask for specific 'signs', but to accept whatever comes through. Maybe you won't get what you're expecting, but gradually you will get things clearly, becoming easier the more you try.

What you need to do next is separate your thoughts from those you are receiving those in the Afterlife. I find the starting point is to be very relaxed, but then to try NOT to get any specific thoughts, and accept whatever comes through. You may not get what you want right now, but you will start to sense things, often that seem odd or insignificant, but it will become clearer the more you try.

Lastly, you want to verify what just happened is not your own thoughts, and my suggestion is to ask for something you don't know, or something you're forgotten. Something you don't know can be anything. In my wife's case, the final 'proof' she needed to verify I was sharing messages from her father was for me to ask if she had knocked a round cylinder containing a bunch of pens and pencils off her desk today? Something I didn't know, and did not even know about the cylinder.

In my book 'Soul Matters " the Voice Within' I talk about my Grandma coming through (who passed away when I was about 7) showing me a plate with a 'scone' on it. I had no idea what this meant, until I heard her soft voice say "don't you remember the scones?' - then I remembered. I had asked my mum many times to make scones like my Grandma (who's British, and they make scones completely different from Australians!). I had completely forgotten that.

So ask, and trust the answer, even if what you get does not make sense - and over the next few hours or days it will, and it will verify your connection. In your case, I understand you already sense him near, and don't really need to know how to connect clearly with him, but I've shared these things because I feel if you do these small simple steps, you'll go from sensing he's with you to getting clear messages and being able to verify it's real.

How To Win Back Your Boyfriend If He's Left You

Has your boyfriend dumped you? Are you longing to get him back again? Well, if you are then you need to exercise a certain amount of caution in order to avoid scaring him away.

Firstly remember that just because you want him back it doesn't mean that he wants to come back. If you've broken up before and your relationship has become a breakup/makeup merry go round, pretty soon one or both of you will want to one day get off that particular ride for good.

Remember, there is always a chance that he's become sick and tired of the breakup and makeup routine and as such, how you feel and what you want may be of no importance to him any longer.

Secondly to get guy back you're really going to have to look at the relationship as a whole, not just the parts you're comfortable looking at, because only then can you begin to find out what's causing the problems.

It may be very much worth your while to seek help and advice from outside, particularly if you think it may help. Under such circumstances good, honest friends can be invaluable, providing they willing to tell you what you need to hear, instead of what you would like to hear.

You should also understand that to pull this off you're going to have to stop acting on whim and emotion and start working a well thought out proven plan. This is probably the most crucial step you will need to take, so get yourself under control.

Take some time out to formulate a plan in order to prevent yourself from making matters worse. In other words, don't be tempted to phone him all the time and don't text in either. Likewise, don't try to manipulate in such a way so as to get him to see you.

You'd be far better off occupying yourself with a meeting other people and going out socializing. In fact, do whatever it takes in order to regain a reasonable amount of clarity with regards to the situation.

Especially take the time to look at why you want to get guy back, because to be honest, too many people find themselves back with their exs only to discover a few weeks down the line that they have made a huge mistake. So just because you want to get guy back right now, ask yourself if you really should?

However, if you've made the decision that you definitely want to get your boyfriend back, and you're satisfied that you're in control of yourself, then you need to prepare yourself for the next step which will involve actually discussing it with him.

One other thing you should bear in mind is; he may not feel ready to see you yet and if that's the case is not very likely to want to discuss getting back together again. If you find yourself in a situation like this, rather than trying to force the issue, accept that he needs more time.

Instead, tell him that you understand completely and then tell him you will give him more time to think things through. Leave it at that and continue living your life and keeping yourself busy.

If You Want Your Ex Back, Face Up Your Mistakes

Let's face it; if you're hoping to patch things up between you and your ex, then you had better be prepared for the fact that you're going to have to face up to the truth.

As sure as eggs are eggs, making mistakes in relationships means you have to fix them and apologize for those mistakes before there can be any making up.

When you decide you want to get back with an ex, you must be ready to face not only what has gone wrong with the relationship, but also your part in the break down of the relationship.

If you made mistakes then don't beat yourself up for that. We all make them, it's what you do after the mistake that's important.

Furthermore, you need to try and determine what exactly what's happening at that time that you made the mistakes, particularly if they were in contrast to your usual character. This is where you may need to come face to face with accepting responsibility for your mistakes.

By determining what events were taking place at the time, you may well come to discover that your behavior was partly due to outside forces such as stressed, family problems, or even stress at work. Of course, if you do arrive at such a conclusion then you'll need to discuss this in great detail with your ex.

If you discover that there were in fact no extenuating circumstances that that your mistakes were simply a result of selfishness or thoughtlessness, then you have still got a chance to fix things again. Of course it's going to take an effort on your part but if you're serious about getting back together again with your ex, than it needs to be done.

Once you get to a point where you manage to put things into perspective regarding your mistakes, then it's time for you to contact your ex in order to make arrangements to meet. You should bear in mind however, that is in your own best interest to meet face to face and also to meet in a public place. This is because they will be less chance that either of you will become emotional.

When you do meet, you need to do what ever you must in order to remain calm and focused on what needs to be said. When the opportunity arises go ahead and apologize and ask her to forgive you. My Boyfriend Broke Up With Me, is It Possible to Get Him Back?

Did your boyfriend break up with you? This is a rough time in your life. You are probably hurting and want to know what caused your boyfriend break up.

First and foremost, while you may want to do a bit of soul searching to assess where you are, avoid playing the self-blame game about your boyfriend break up. The truth is that your ex has his own issues to deal with. Remember the phrase "it's not you, it's me" when it comes to the reasons why your relationship ended.

You can spend time trying to get your ex back. If you are going to go down this route, you need to know the following things:

Don't bug your ex after a boyfriend break up. If he's ended the relationship, then he wants his space, so don't call or text him several times a day.

It's okay to flirt with other guys in his presence. It may even make him want you back more.

When you do get back together for a "trial date" be cheerful and friendly but don't pressure him for more than he can handle.

If you truly feel deep down that your boyfriend break up is final and the relationship can't be saved, then you need to take steps to move on.

One of the first things you can do after your boyfriend break up is to sit down and write a long letter to him pouring out your heart. You can talk about the good times and bad. You can tell him what a jerk he is and call him all sorts of names. But, don't mail the letter! Instead, take a candle out and burn it. When you get married, it seems like everything just falls into place and everything makes sense. When times get tough, though, and the marriage begins to struggle it can seem like the new life is starting to get old and may die out. If you aren't ready for your life together to die, your marriage in crisis may need to get C.P.R.

A Cartoonists New Philosophy Of Cartooning

I started my odyssey into learning cartoons in the late '90's. I hadn't a clue what was to come. Before I embarked upon this mysterious venture, I decided it would be to my advantage to talk to America's most visible cartoonists. I was surprised how many of them were open and available to speak with me were. Fortunately, I was both too young and naive to know NOT to bother the masters. I was able to track down "Peanuts" creator Charles Schulz through his art dealer, Marc Cohen. When Schulz picked up his phone, I started asking the five journalistic Ws (Who, what, when, why, and where). His (and others) advice turned out to be exactly what I needed to know. My "cartoon philosophy" had begun. It has since evolved, but I can look back and easily see Schulz knew "what was to come" in the world of cartooning. He knew the Internet was the key as was/is merchandising.

Why did Schulz become a cartoonist? Like me, hed tried just about everything else and didnt do it very well. I asked him if there was any money to be made in such a venture. I could almost see his smile on the other side of the line. He assured me there was plenty, but not to expect it in newspapers. He told me that even if you do get syndicated, the money is still just pennies per newspaper and that the smart way to approach it, that is, to look at it as a career, is licensed merchandise, such as tees, caps, mugs, etc. He told me he made millions more in licensing than in publishing.

I told him I did not draw very well (which is true) and, that I wanted to try something very new and different. It was to be a color cartoon in which the artwork, for the most part was more fine art than cartoon art, and that I wanted a different look and feel to each cartoon, but a theme, focused on wordplay and picture-play in which, at times, the viewer might have to take a second or two to get it.

Schulz assured me that nearly 20% of all cartoons we see in the newspapers are team efforts that is, an artist and writer, and that if I did not feel my own artwork was up to snuff, to recruit an artist to draw my concepts. He also encouraged me to read as much as I could about Walt Disney because what I was about to attempt was actually a Disney model without animation; he actually called it Disney meets Gary Larson, which was a bit flattering to say the least.

I also spoke with several other cartoonists, most of whom created in the same genre as Gary Larsons Far Side, such as Leigh Rubin (Rubes), Dave Coverly (Speed Bump), and Jon McPherson (Close To Home). I was amazed, again, at how open and available they made themselves. In fact Leigh and I became good friends and talked regularly on the phone. He was already one of the worlds leading cartoonists, and I was just starting. That didnt matter to him. I will never forget that kind of generosity and his willingness to lead me in a direction that made it work for me. And of course the same is true for Charles Sparky Schulz (Sparky by the way was what he liked to be called. That was the name of his favorite dog, a Schnauzer; and I knew I liked him right away. I have a tendency to hang with fellow animal lovers, and Schulz also had an uncanny biting wit, often held back in Peanuts, even though it was always funny, was meant for family audiences, his target. In real life, he displayed a sense humor that reminded me a great deal of some of my British favorites such as John Cleese of Monty Python.

There seemed to be a common thread regarding the philosophy of cartooning, amongst all of the masters. That is, Sure, you must make a living in this world, but keep the day job. Cartooning is a labor of love, and, only 1% or so actually end up doing it for a living. One must approach it with a very open mind and a love for making people laugh, and to be flexible, as the Internet at the time, was changing the whole nature of the cartoon business.

Pragmatic advice is hard to find. How did "Sparky" know the Internet was changing? How did he know it would change how we perceived cartooning? I knew about "vision" and that some people "saw" things others could not, but could he be this brilliant? He was. Licensed merchandise became even more of the key to making it work than Sparky Schulz had felt; and he had seen it coming. Today, though my cartoons appear in publications worldwide; mostly trade magazines, college textbooks and on websites, the majority of my take is from the sales of funny gifts and collectibles. When I look back over the past twelve years it has all becomes a blur. I have had the opportunity to work with some of the world's top illustrators of cartoons. I wrote/they rendered.

By a luck of the draw (no pun intended), I have been one of the few (of which Schulz and the others had told me) who has been able to "make it" in the world of humor and cartoons. I know though, that even if I had not been one of the lucky ones, I would still be doing "something creative" as that temptation never is diffused. It becomes as if to be an appendage, and, it gives one the thought, that, even if not so, if one person laughed, the purveyor of the humor left the world a bit nicer and more peaceful.

How To Improve Someone's Stay At A Hospital.

An unfortunate truth is that many individuals spend a large amount of time in the hospital. Staying at a hospital can be very depressing for someone. There are many things a person can do to help out a loved one who is admitted to the hospital. Even the smallest of gestures can help lift someones spirits greatly.

One clear way to bring happiness to a hospital patient is to buy them presents. Often times people like to buy boxed candy but that is ill advised. Many patients are on a strict diet and candy can be harmful to certain patients. The best kind of gift you can purchase for a person is a nice bouquet (for women) or a nice house plant (for men). Or you can even make them a gift. A nice hand written card with an encouraging message will always be appreciated by a person who has fallen ill.

Spending time with a patient during visiting hours can also cheer up a person. Your loved one is probably feeling lonely and detached from the world. When you spend some quality time with the patient you are reminding him or her that they are loved and very missed. You can bring some movies on a portable player, video games on hand held players, or even play a board game with them. Ideally you would want to do a group activity, something to keep the patients mind focused on your presence rather than being in a hospital.

To greatly improve someones stay at a hospital you can purchase them a personal gown. What not many people realize is that hospital gowns are made of very strong fabrics and fibers. These fibers are chosen because they can endure the rigorous use the hospital puts them through. The fabrics endure multiple washes without fading or losing any threads. Despite being very durable these standard hospital gowns are very uncomfortable for the patient to wear.

The gowns do succeed at being very durable but at the cost of comfort to the patient. The material is often times very thick and can cause rashes in some patients. Also with hospitals buying standard issue gowns they dont always carry the right size for people, often times supplying the patients with a gown that is either to large or small. Not to mention people with Mysophobia (germaphobes/germaphobia as they are more commonly known) will not like the idea of wearing something that has been used by another person. Regardless of how much it has been washed.

Purchasing a night gown will greatly improve the patients stay at a hospital. You will be able to find a gown that fits your loved one perfectly because youll be able to find gowns that come in a wider variety of sizes. The fabric the gowns are made of are more breathable than the hospital gowns. The softer fabric decreasing the likelihood of skin irritation. Also purchasing multiple gowns will give your loved one the chance to wear more than one, if he or she feels that wearing only one gown is too revealing.

With your love and support the patient will no longer have to suffer through the lonely and depressing feelings they are bound to feel while confined to their hospital bed. Keeping them happy is one of the best ways to make them feel better about their situation.

Depressions At A Glance

Depression is an illness that affects not only your mood and thoughts but also the entire body. It can affect the way you ponder things, eat as well as sleep and how you view yourself too.

When someone is depressed he or she cannot get away with it even with a strong will. However most depressions can be treated even it has been plaguing for years.

Symptoms vary intensely from person to person, depending on the type of depression it is and what occasioned it as well as how long it has been allowed to progress. A person with depression may have troubles concerning decision-making and concentration.

Many depressed people usually have problems with short term memory. Mostly always think negative. Some may be said to suffer from poor self esteem and pessimism. People with a very serious depressions may even have self destructive thoughts.

They may feel very tired and very irritable. Many people who are depressed often feel helpless and hopeless, and they suffer greatly from any work productivity, in other words they often feel uncomfortable with daily activities.

They do not eat properly, either overeat or do not eat enough, as well as suffering through sleeping problems, where they either sleep erratically or not at all, and some oversleep. Others suffer a plethora of aches and pains, while some are simply increasingly restless.

The very best advice is if you feel as if you may be depressed, then at least go to a psychiatrist once.

In order to receive the correct diagnosis, be sure and tell the psychiatrist every symptom you may have, and not omit anything out of the ordinary for yourself, even if you feel it may be unimportant.

1. Realize that it wasn't just you and it wasn't just him. It was the both of you. If you are willing to make changes in the way you approach the marriage, your husband might be willing to. Some of it comes down to the way you look at the situation.

2. Think about what makes you happy as well as what makes your husband happy. Make sure that you are both willing to make sacrifices to make to other happy.

3. Start with where you are in life and see where you are in life. Look at what it is that makes you happy and drives you. Look for the same thing with your husband. Try to find common ground. If there is love there, you will find that common ground.

4. It is important that you and your husband do something together that makes you both happy. Think about the things that you used to love to do together. Take a walk, go to the beach, have a nice dinner or go for a hike. Find something that you can do alone together to work on building your relationship. A little romance never hurt anyone, but it is important that you dont go over the top.

5. It is important that you let your husband know just how much he means to you. You should do this but recognizing the things that he has said that he needs from you. You need to take the appropriate steps to prove to him that he is worth saving your marriage for. While you shouldnt expect him to do the same, you will find that he is likely to start giving a little in your direction as well. Your reason for changing needs to be because you love your husband and you want to fix your marriage. This is where being selfish is not an option.

You have to know that it may not be possible to get back the relationship to the level it was when it was at it's peak. Just because "I want my husband back" doesn't mean that it is the best thing to get it back to the way that it was.

It is important to remember that just because your relationship is at a low point; it wont always be that way. Many times it hitting all time lows in a relationship can help to build a healthier stronger relationship in the future. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but getting your husband back will be worth it in the end.

Things to Have in Mind if You Want to Recover a Lost Love

If you want to win back lost love that is from a long time ago there may be an uphill battle ahead for you. If you are like many, you have reached a point in your life that you realize that things might have been better for you if you had taken that other path.

Maybe you thought the grass was greener. Maybe there was a litany of things you did wrong, or they did wrong, that drove you apart. Maybe you just miss a time you've idealized in your memory, putting gold pixie dust on cherished memories. If you want to move past the pixie dust and self delusion, follow these tips.

First, make sure that there is nothing in your life right now that may missing out on. The mistake you may have made in the past was that you didnt take advantage of the opportunities that you had at that moment. Make sure that you dont make the same mistake again by missing out on something potentially good.

A life built on regretful reflection isn't the one you want to lead. Look for love now, in your current relationship rather than spend the rest of your life going What if... Also, think about your current partner " jilting him or her so you can go chase an old flame is going to do bad things to their self esteem. Does going after an old flame make you look selfish? Chances are, it does.

It's also worthwhile to ask if they've moved on. Quite honestly, time wounds all heels, and heals all wounds. Just because you're not happy with your present partner and are longing for what you gave up doesn't mean they're feeling the same way about you. Trying to re-open a dormant relationship could hurt both of you.

Ask yourself if they're happy and content. If they are, leave well enough alone. All you'll do by dredging up might have beens is make both of you miserable. That may seem cool in movies, but it sucks in real life.

Everyone changes over time. You changed. They've changed. Events may well have made you entirely different people. The circumstances that your old relationship had don't exist any more. If you're going to make the second go around, focus not on the past, but on the future you want to build together.

Nothing reeks more of desperation than suddenly appearing in someone else's life. Start out slowly, read the signs carefully, and move cautiously. Even if you are obsessed and desperate, that's only appealing in stupid movies. In real life, it's creepy.

Build up to it slowly. Don't tell them how much you love them and can't live without them. (If you can't live without me, why aren't you dead yet? is a good phrase to remember.) Take the time to know them, befriend them, and let them know you, and how you've changed for the better.

As with any relationship, look forward. Forgive the past, learn from the past, and let it lie on its own. What matters is proving that the future you can have together is worth pursuing.

You need to make the most of the chances you're given, and you need to focus on what you (and they) stand to gain from linking up again. Take advantage of today, so that tomorrow is not full of regrets for choices left unmade. If you're going to have a chance at making this love work again, you need to live in the moment, not the past.
