Death is coming

The closer death creeps up upon me the less I am able to understand the reasons for life or living.

Yes I have experienced a close family member dying and unlike television it takes decades to handle such a thing. To think I am going to put my family through such a thing when I finally leave is more horrific to me than the thought of death itself.

My life was and is still a learning experience but when all said and done what am I to do with all this accumulated learning over my lifetime if I just die. There is no logic or reason to this.

Long ago I became aware that the God story that is sold to the majority is just a nice story to give mankind with a message of a basic layout of how nice life could be if everyone followed these ideas. Not many in life do and if one thinks about it the good and evil structures actually depend on each other. The good that can be experienced in life is only understood as good when there is it's opposite to compare it to. This is not rocket science only common sense in reality. I am not saying we need to experience bad but understanding in it is needed to appreciate the great things many of us can have in our lives. From birth to death there are many ways mankind helps his fellow man. How many ways can you help?

7 Methods to Enhance Your Happiness Beginning NOW

By Jimmie Burroughs

I just took the" true happiness test " and my grade was A+. The test reveals weak areas requiring improving as well as the powerful areas that make somebody satisfied.

About My Grade:

"You scored high in both recollected and experienced happiness. You're feeling competent, independent, and have good relations with mates รข€" all key factors to your happiness. Your positive disposition reflects your need and capability to prosper on a day-to-day basis. Continue to support your healthy self-image by making improvements to your house and passing time on activities that actually interest you." From bluezones

It left out the main reason nonetheless , which is God's presence in my life. I knew I was a pretty content guy, but did not know I would score that high. After I took the test, I began to try and evaluate why I am happy. I've got some things in my life, as well as others, that would pull me down, but I tend to target the nice things, and I suspect the 7 ways to enhance your happiness now, listed below, are all essential to be content.

7 tactics to improve your happiness beginning now These are based on my own experience; I hope you find them helpful:

1. Enhance your finances

2. Improve your health

3. Improve relations

4. Do more things that you like

5. Go to new places and meet new friends

6. Get a pet

7. Develop your spiritual life

Enhance your finances:

It is crucial to your happiness to have your finances in order. Some purchase items thinking they'll make them cheerful, and essentially sometimes it takes away from their happiness. When you have to struggle to pay for all the stuff you have purchased, and are consistently living on the financial edge, it is tough to have much happiness.

If you're young particularly, it's so important to learn finances and make some wise financial choices. These are some things that I suggest that you start to do now: Pay off your bills beginning with the smallest. As fast as you pay off a bill, take the amount you are paying on it and clear the next one till you are paid off. In the in the meantime, avoid the temptation to buy anything else.

The difference in how folks with money spend their money contrasted with people who don't is that folk with cash buy assets, while people who don't have money buy un-needed junk that commonly winds up in a garage sale.

Be wise in how you spend your cash; live below your means in order to save. Remember, it's not how much you earn but how well you manage what you earn. It isn't a matter of reducing the standard of your life either, but a matter of better managing your spending and saving.

There are plenty of highpaid people who live from salary check to check. They haven't learned the way to manage money either. I read recently that a famous film star's home in Florida is in foreclosure; he was the top box office draw for years and made millions. He's not the sole celebrity who is in trouble financially; there are many others. So once more, it's not how much you earn as it is how you manage what you earn.

A famous entrepreneur on the Internet was talking recently about his surprise when his mum told him she was retiring with over a million greenbacks from her job as the church secretary. Church secretary doesn't pay that much but allegedly she knew ways to manage cash.

Take a bit of time to appraise your money affairs, and make some plans regarding how to get them in order and be certain to start to save for retirement unless you plan to work till you drop over dead.

Enhance your health:

It is tricky to be satisfied if you are suffering from poor health. Folks with poor health typically suffer with lots of pain or restrictions. I was sitting on a park bench today at the beach on a stunning warm day in Florida, when a person and his better half came along. They paused to ask about my dog. We talked for some time and I noticed he had a respiring problem. Before long he took out a cig pack and lit up. He did not smoke the whole ciggie; he punctiliously put it out and then replaced the remainder back into the package for later on. It continues to amaze me how some knowingly destroy their health. I had two mates who had lung cancer and continued to smoke right up until they died. I haven't smoked,. So I don't know what it is like, but I frequently wonder what it is about a fag that's more vital than health or even life for a case of fact.

Habits that include health risks are not worth it. Your health is an important ingredient to happiness. Here's the thing: It is just as simple to maintain good health as it is to tear your fitness down with bad habits, unhealthy eating and absence of exercise. You may have good health by changing a couple of things about your way of life and by doing a little every day to maintain it. It's true that we don't have absolute control over our health, but we do have a lot of control over it.

Improve relationships:

The 1st sentence above of the analysis of my happiness test says: "You scored high in both remembered and experienced happiness. You are feeling competent, independent, and have good relationships with buddies "all key factors to your happiness."

If there's one thing in life that is more crucial than all of the rest as far as happiness, it'd be relationships. It is inconsequential what you have, if you've no one to enjoy life with, it is insignificant. Some people mess off all of their mates and wind up alone, disgruntle and sad. Relations like pretty much anything else need upkeep and care to grow and to survive. The best rule when it comes to improving relationships is the golden rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Do more things that you enjoy:

I could add to the above," and less of the things you do not enjoy ." For years I was in a situation that required regular meetings. If those meeting had been needed and had purpose, it would have been different , but for the most part they weren't; so I developed an aversion concerning meetings and until this day I avoid them; I don't like them. I'm at the crossroads today where I am able to select the things I do and so I do only a few things that I simply do not enjoy.

One of the great things about having a powerful money state is the power to do more of the things you enjoy in life. I enjoy travel, so I've traveled in 49 states and several other nations. You can not do this if you do not get on top of your money affairs when you're young.

Go to new places and meet new people:

One of the things I am hoping to do in late 2012 is to take a trip to China for a year and teach English in a school. I would be teaching about 400 Chinese scholars. While this isn't yet for certain, I am hoping it works out. That to me is something completely different from anything I've done before, and the idea of meeting that many new, young people and in another country, is so much fun.

But it does not have to be something as drastic as that; it can be going to new places in your own community and meeting new folk and making new friends.

Get a pet:

Pardon me for using so many private examples in this post however it is founded upon my own experiences of things that have added happiness to my life, so I suppose if that is the case it's alright.

Having a pet is so necessary to me. I have owned pets all though my life, both dogs and cats, though I like dogs. All my pets have been outside pets until the present one. I currently have a West Highland Terrier, known as "Westy", who is an insider dog.

How I came about him is a gloomy tale. My spouse always wanted a Westy, but since I never liked to have an insider dog, we never got one, that is until she got sick with cancer and then I agreed to get one. She acquired him when he was two months old and he was so small that she regularly carried him in a large purse with just his head sticking out.

The sad part is that she died 11 months after getting the dog. He was completely her dog until she died and then he turned to me and has been at my side for over six years now. He has been such a help to me during the mourning period, and to this day he's cheerful just being where I am. I might hate worst than anything to be without him; he adds so much happiness to my life. I travel in a motor home, and together he and I've been in 37 states. It is a undisputed fact that folk with dogs are merrier and also live for longer.

Develop your spiritual life:

More than anything in my life, the spiritual connection I have had with God has given me happiness, happiness and purpose. Even thru the tough times of my life, and perhaps especially during those times, God's presence has brought me through. I can't imagine going thru life alone without God.

I can recollect years back reading a poem that has stuck with me. I found it on the Internet. The first writer is unknown. This copy is provided by Margaret Fishback Powers.

I Had a Dream

One night I had a dream

I was strolling along the beach with my Lord.

. Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.

For each scene I noticed 2 sets

of footprints in the sand,

one belonging to me

and the other to my Lord.

When the last scene of my life shot before me

I looked back at the footprints in the sand.

There was just one set of footprints.

I noticed that this was at the lowest

and saddest times in my life.

This always bothered me

and I was critical of the Lord

about my quandary.

"Lord, you told me when I made up my mind to follow You,

You would walk and talk with me all the way.

But I am conscious of the fact that during the most annoying

times of my life there's only 1 set of footprints.

I do not see why, when I required You most,

you leave me."

He whispered, "My precious, precious child,

I love you and will never leave you

never, ever during your times of trial and testings.

When you saw only 1 set of footprints

It was then that I carried you."

Conclusion:

It's a good thing to go thru life with a measure of happiness, but happiness is not the most important thing. My aim in life isn't centered entirely on maintaining a state of happiness but rather on satisfying purpose. I know what my gifts are and I know what my purpose is, so I'm concerned in that. Happiness looks to be kind of an after effect. One thing I am sure of, and that is my happiness is more dependent upon my spiritual relationship with God than any other thing. When your relationship with God comes first, it is far easier to experience a continued state of happiness.
