In the course of a Christian marriage getaway we were attending, there had been a testimony portion where a handful of couples were selected to share exactly how Jesus has blessed their marriages. One of the testimonies stood out to me mainly because my spouse and I had never heard anything like it. The woman said her husband had a destructive habit that she had been not aware of for awhile. She was a praying women and the more often she interceded she believed something was not right. She talked about how she often felt like some other person was in their bed along with them. As if her husband was fantasizing about a previous woman or something. She couldn't figure out what it was. Her husband finally admitted his problem with pornography. She was thankful that he confided in her because now she could pray much more directly. She interceded, " Lord, you stated that when my spouse and I got married we became one flesh. I know that where he is vulnerable I am able to be strong. Half of my body is troubled with a porn addiction. But the other half of my body does not have an addiction to porn. So I pray using the stronger half of my body and I demand this spirit to depart from my marriage in the name of Jesus."
We all have been called to pray with the exact same confidence and authority against the spirits which come against all of our Christian marriages! Challenge: Ask your spouse exactly what one problem, goal or area of their life you possibly can pray for. Then spend time today making that one situation your prayer focus during the day.
