Death is coming

The closer death creeps up upon me the less I am able to understand the reasons for life or living.

Yes I have experienced a close family member dying and unlike television it takes decades to handle such a thing. To think I am going to put my family through such a thing when I finally leave is more horrific to me than the thought of death itself.

My life was and is still a learning experience but when all said and done what am I to do with all this accumulated learning over my lifetime if I just die. There is no logic or reason to this.

Long ago I became aware that the God story that is sold to the majority is just a nice story to give mankind with a message of a basic layout of how nice life could be if everyone followed these ideas. Not many in life do and if one thinks about it the good and evil structures actually depend on each other. The good that can be experienced in life is only understood as good when there is it's opposite to compare it to. This is not rocket science only common sense in reality. I am not saying we need to experience bad but understanding in it is needed to appreciate the great things many of us can have in our lives. From birth to death there are many ways mankind helps his fellow man. How many ways can you help?

Spiritual Awareness: The Earth's Finest Alarm System

By Rev Bil Holton

Nearly All of us have home protection systems. We set them when we are at home or away and feel safer for doing this. And if it ever goes off in a actual emergency the dispatcher's voice chimes in asking for the password. Because owners are the lone ones who know the password, interlopers know they only have minutes to leave before the police come.

What number of you might have ever set your alarm off inadvertently? After your 1st surprise and irritation with yourself for having set the alarm off, don't you experience a sensation of relief knowing that the end to the noise - is simply a password away?

Remember when you were kids and you had your first nightmare? Wasn't it comforting when one of your family came rushing into your bedroom and declared, "It's OK. I am here." The sound of a parent's voice and a parent's presence were all you required to feel safe again.

Remember a time more recently when you were in a panic, or lost, or going thru a difficult time. Remember how it felt when you called a friend. The sound of his or her voice on the other end of the line was all you wanted to regain your composure.

We have all been in situations like that. The voice I would like to talk about in this article is another voice: the world's best alarm system. It's an alarm we Would like to hear! It's the 'still small voice ' "which permits us to see things from the Christ perspective. And we hear that voice in three ways:

- when we are relaxed,
- when we meditate, and
- when we pray.

If our consciousness is Christ"centered, we're going to hear the 'still small voice. ' We won't go astray if we get extremely good at hearing the voice. When we meditate, or simply relax, we are getting intuitions. These intuitive flashes are the 'still small voice ' saying: "Here's the solution.. Do this. Do not do that. Wait. Don't wait.

Intuitions are cosmic e-mails from the Christ Presence inside us. They are our Christness talking to us. As we are the Christ expressing as us, we are pre-wired to recognize the voice. It's in our spiritual DNA. We are password protected because we have immediate accessibility to the greatest security system in the world: the still small voice. And the password is: Peace be still.

You and I are the Christ expressing as us and so we can claim perfect health and wholeness.

We are the Christ expressing as us and so we have the power and the wisdom to handle any situation.

We are the Christ expressing as us and so we have all of the finances we need to do the work we have come here to do.

We are the Christ expressing as us and therefore answers to our most important questions can come to us with speed, ease, comfort, and joy.

We are the Christ expressing as us and so we are able to enjoy a life stuffed with happiness and spiritual enlightenment.

When we hear the 'still small voice, ' an easy flash, an aha, a cosmic email, we will always stay in integrity. The 'still small voice ' comes when we are calm, when we are composed, when we are prayerful.

We may master the art of living when we master the art of prayer.

We intend to master the art of living when we master the art of meditation.

We intend to master the art of living when we master the art of relaxation.

We intend to master the art of living when we master the arts of forgiveness, and kindness, and compassion, and service.

The genuinely neat thing about it is we all have the same password. The password is: Peace be still.

Whatever you've got facing you this week "a health challenge, more month left than money, an anorexic checking account, unemployment, uncertainty Listen to your intuition, the 'still small voice. ' And remember: You are password protected!

Spiritual Seashore Getaway: Condominiums vs Sandcastles

By Rev's Bil & Cher Holton

How many of you have ever built a sand castle? Sand sculpted an animal of some sort, or a car, or a miniature lighthouse, or a fort? Chances are you knew your creation was only going to be a temporary creation. We doubt you thought, “Wow, I think I’ll take this home with me.” When your artistic bent was over, you probably enjoyed bulldozing your creation, or watching your kids do it, or watching the tide do it.

Surprisingly, you will find organizations that provide you with ideas along with instruction on sand art sculpting. There’s an enormous marketplace for sand castle resources, videos, books, and tutors. You can also use the internet and discover an expert sand sculptor in you location. We visited the Neptune Sand Art Festival in Virginia Beach in the past and were impressed by the caliber of sand art. We were amazed at the dimensions and fine detail of the designs. Some were 16 to 20 feet high. One was an amazing reproduction of a condo project!

Needless to say, constructing a sand castle and building a condominium are two different things. One must have a substantial, long lasting foundation. The other requires an exhibitor’s pass, visitors, sand art devotees, and judges to award prizes.

This article doesn’t literally refer to sand castles and condos on the beach. It has more to do with the kind of foundation you build your life on. It has to do with your consciousness. We’re talking Spiritual Enlightenment! And a story taken from Matthew sums it up nicely” Matt. 7:24-27: 24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Let’s paraphrase this, and consider this coming from a more spiritual viewpoint:

24. Whoever receives these words on twitter, FaceBook, or email, and applies them, builds their condo (their Spiritual Consciousness) on rock.

25. When hurricanes with names like fear, doubt, worry, and anxiety beat upon that condo, it does not fall because it is built on a solid foundation.

26. But whoever hears these words, and does not apply them, builds their condo on sand.

27. And when gale force life events and circumstances slam into that condo, it crumbles because it is not built on a solid foundation.

The significance of this text are rather evident. Every time the condos we’re making reference to, the scriptures actually say houses, symbolize our consciousness.

If your spiritual consciousness is built on solid spiritual ground you will be able to withstand storms with names like fear, doubt, worry, false accusations, accidents, and health challenges. You will be able to stand ramrod straight in the midst of cyclones of criticism, tidal waves of gossip, and the heat index of hot air buffoons.

Alternatively, should your spiritual consciousness is constructed on the quick sand of quick fixes, shifting sands of worldly appetites, and what Eric Butterworth calls the ‘spell of materialism,’ you won't have the ability to weather a spring shower not to mention a category 5 human challenge.

We certainly have endured a few setbacks from time-to-time, much like everybody else. A number of them have brought with them a couple of turns and dramas which have surprised us. When you move through something of that nature, you discover the distinction between ‘shifting sand friends’ and ‘rock solid friends.’

Perhaps you have been through it? In addition, you understand the importance of applying stable Truth principles. And you value the love along with support of friends which have faith in you. You will need a faith-based consciousness to remain above the slings and arrows of difficulty. It will take a consciousness constructed on the rock of faith, not on sand of external appearances.

If we’ve realized anything at all from the truth walk in Unity Cher and I have discovered that we can work all things together for good. As soon as mankind creates its consciousness on sound spiritual ground, there'll be an end to conflicts and violence, hunger and homelessness, cancer and each of the ailments that could be healed if we genuinely loved and respected one another.

And so, I share again the message of Matthew 7:24-27:

- If your consciousness is built on solid spiritual ground, you can weather any storm.
- If your consciousness is built on solid spiritual ground, you can move beyond any human difficulty.
- If your consciousness is built on solid spiritual ground, you can make the future you desire.
- If your consciousness is created on sound spiritual ground, you could make this current year the very best year you’ve ever experienced … as you walk the spiritual path on practical feet.
