Death is coming

The closer death creeps up upon me the less I am able to understand the reasons for life or living.

Yes I have experienced a close family member dying and unlike television it takes decades to handle such a thing. To think I am going to put my family through such a thing when I finally leave is more horrific to me than the thought of death itself.

My life was and is still a learning experience but when all said and done what am I to do with all this accumulated learning over my lifetime if I just die. There is no logic or reason to this.

Long ago I became aware that the God story that is sold to the majority is just a nice story to give mankind with a message of a basic layout of how nice life could be if everyone followed these ideas. Not many in life do and if one thinks about it the good and evil structures actually depend on each other. The good that can be experienced in life is only understood as good when there is it's opposite to compare it to. This is not rocket science only common sense in reality. I am not saying we need to experience bad but understanding in it is needed to appreciate the great things many of us can have in our lives. From birth to death there are many ways mankind helps his fellow man. How many ways can you help?

Simple Steps For Finding Peace Within Yourself

By Lisa Phillips

A combination of work, family, and all the random things life tends to throw at you, can leave you feeling exhausted. Sometimes, you do not even notice that you need a break, until your body starts to fail you. One way to prevent this from happening is by finding peace within yourself. This process can seem long and tedious, but the results are worth the effort. Everyone has their way of approaching this matter, but here are some things that will be common to most.

You will notice that a lot of your stress and anxiety is caused by worrying about things you did, and things you have not yet done. Living in the present does not mean being carefree, it simply means accepting that there are things you have no control over. Forgiving yourself and other people will help you let go of the past. As for the future, you simply need to take it as it comes.

Everybody knows someone who they think needs to slow down. Maybe they work too hard or even party too much. However, when looking at other people, you tend to overlook the things you do. Taking some time to look at what you are doing, gives you the chance to evaluate your choices. After this, you should make a journal and start prioritizing all the things that need to be done every day.

To find inner peace, you first need to let go of all the negative feeling you may have. This does not mean calling people to rant or breaking all the cups. You should simply cut ties with the people who you feel contribute to these feelings. Even tidying the house can help to get over emotions like anger and grief. After doing this it will be easier to start focusing on the positive things.

Before you find peace in yourself, you need to accept the way you are. You can change some aspects of your appearance and personality, but this will need to be a personal choice. Every once in a while, schedule a day to spend alone, doing what you like. This is one of the most important steps of this journey, because it will also teach you how to appreciate other people.

Meditation is another way to find inner peace. All day, you might be surrounded by noise, and the only quiet moment you may have is just before you fall asleep. You can start by meditating for five minutes every day. This allows you clear your mind and rid yourself of negative feelings and emotions. You do not need to pull out a mat in the middle of the work day simply looking for a quiet corner, will work.

Nature can be very therapeutic. If you live in the middle of a city, try going to the park now and then. You can also join people going on hikes, or fishing trips. Simply being in this environment forces you to slow down and eventually relax.

There are numerous benefits associated with being at peace with yourself. You stop seeing flaws in everything and everyone, and this makes you a lot happier. By meditating, you sharpen the mind, and this will allow you to do one activity successfully and for longer.

Getting Support From A Depression Hotline

By Karen Mitchell

There are a lot of counselors available to talk to folks who are suffering from depression. Many people make the mistake of leaving this until the last minute until they are suicidal, which is never a good idea. It is not easy suffering on your own, especially when nobody understands what you are going through. This is why a depression hotline is so helpful.

There are counselors that are available during the day and night. They will assist you at all times, which is encouraging. Some of these counselors have even been suffering in the same way and have come through with their issues. This is why they are so compassionate and are able to show so much empathy.

There are also a lot of teenagers which have many issues of their own. They may not be comfortable on the phone. However, there are a lot of other forms of communication. They may be more comfortable texting someone. There are also online chats which are a good way of coping with life. The child may also feel more safe and anonymous in this sort of environment.

The suicide rate among teenagers has increased over the years, and parents don't always know what to look for. The problem is that teens don't always know where to turn because they may be ashamed of what is going on in their life. They don't know of how mom and dad is going to react. For example, bullying and abuse is a big problem.

They may realize that they have a big problem with drugs and alcohol and they may want help. However, they also realize that if they turn to the teacher or their parents, they may end up in a rehab center. Should they phone or text someone they don't know, they will not be threatened in any way. Knowing that they have someone to talk to who they can trust makes this so much easier.

You should also realize that depression can become chronic, and it is never for someone who is simply suicidal. You should not feel bad for phoning someone like this. Volunteers welcome phone calls because they are only too happy to help out. They may not be able to answer specific questions and tell you what to do, but they can definitely guide you.

Usually someone goes into a state of depression when they are feeling this way for more than two weeks. It is important to get some form of support. A lot of people feel that they are not able to call a counselor because they feel this is reserved for someone who is suicidal. However, this is simply not so, because you will feel comforted once you have spoken to someone compassionate.

Some people also don't have the budget to head off to a psychotherapist and this is why they tend to suffer in silence. Counselors who offer their services online do this free of charge. Often, they see this as a calling. They see this as a passion. You may find that they will refer you to other community programs which are also free of charge.

Explaining The Responsibilities To Children About Having A Talk Phone

By Frank Collins

Once again children are headed back to school and parents are searching for school supplies and the latest fashionable clothing. One new item that might be added to your child's list this year is a talk phone. It is quite natural or a child to want a way to keep in contact with you and with their friends throughout the year.

Go over responsibility guidelines with the child. It is important that the child knows the phone is for communication purposes only. Although, they will use it to talk to friends, explore the web, and play games, the sole purpose of having the device is so that you can get in contact with them. Your child needs to know that they are not allowed to do everything you do with your phone.

Let it be known that there should be no picture posting to any social media sites. Bullying is a huge problem, and most young children do not realize that one picture can be the start of an enormous problem throughout their school days. Be open and honest with your child about the negative purposes that people often use social media sites.

Parents have a responsibility to their child to make sure they know it is not alright to post pictures to social media without their permission. Children do not understand that one wrong post can lead to a lot of heartache and negative attention. It is important to open up the line of communication to make sure your child is clear on the responsibility that comes with the device.

Depending on the age of the child, you might have to give them hours which they can only use their phone. Many children will stay up all night playing games and texting friends. It is a good idea to put all phones on chargers in a family room at night. That way you will know that your child is not sitting up all night texting.

It is also important to discuss bullying and only using the phone to interact positive. Many children sneak and open up accounts on their phones to talk and interact with other children away from school. It is crucial to discuss with a child about the negative effect that these app accounts can have on their life. Children should know that they should only talk to people they know from school and family members on their phone. Anyone else has to go through your approval first.

There is nothing wrong with giving your child the best and allowing them to talk freely with their friends. It is good to give children privacy but too much privacy and leniency could lead to other worries. Also, allow your child to work to help pay for their cellular bill.

Always be open to your child to talk about anything. If they stumble upon something by accident, you want them to feel free to come and talk to you. Do not be quick to jump to conclusion that the child is using the device for bad. You know your child and just how far they will go on certain things but yet and still you want to check their phones periodically.

How A Dog Helped Create The Talk Phone

By Ann Schmidt

While smartphones have only existed in the last several years, cellular, satellite, walkie talkies and other models have existed for decades. As such, while the design, applications and operating systems of smart phones is new, talk phone technology has existed since the discovery of the first working telephone in 1876.

Alexander Graham Bell was a Scottish scientist. The first to be credited with patenting a working model. Mr. Bell's brother, father and grandfather assisted in the development when it came to speech and elocution. Then, after much research and experimentation, Alexander's design was awarded the first U. S. Patent for a working model in 1876.

Ultimately, credit for the first working telephone was given to Alexander Graham Bell. For, had the scientist not decided to research hearing devices in hope of helping a deaf wife, the telephone as we know it may have never been invented. For, it is Alexander who created the first working model, thanks to a little help from a father, a sibling and the family dog in 1876.

Later, the scientist invented several other aspects when it comes to communications. For example, Mr. Bell spent more time working on optical communication, aeronautic and hydrofoil systems later in life. In addition, while Alexander has never been considered one of the founds of the National Geographic Society, the scientist served as the second president of the publication, thus having a strong influence on the magazine.

After becoming quite impressed with the boys interest in a "mechanical man, " with a simulated human voice at an exhibit, the father decided to pay all expenses associated with building a replica. After the father promised a surprise gift if the boys completed the project, interest grew even more. Then, after much research and development, the project reached completion.

While the project was a success, it was the father who paid for all the parts and processes involved. In addition, excited to see the boys so interested in scientific research and developed, a major prize was offered if the project became successful. While there is no record of what the prize might have been, it is clearly evident that the boys deserved more than just a prize for having creating this working model of the original "mechanical man."

Meet Trouve, the Bell family dog. Trouve assisted in the research and development of the telephone. For, if Alexander had not used Trouve in experimentation and research, sound transmission and other processes might have never been developed. As such, without help from the family dog, Mr. Bell might have never been granted a U. S. Patent for the first working model of a two way communications device.

The objective was to create a device over which sound waves could be transmitted in either direction. After which, there was more research and development into the design. For, a person on one end needed to speak into a microphone while the other needed to hear. As a result, the mouth and ear design on traditional telephones with a rotary dialing system became quite popular over the years.

How A Depression Hotline Can Help You

By Paul Cook

When you are depressed, there may seem as if there is no escape. You may have a job to do or children to get ready for school, but when you can't get going yourself in the morning, it can especially be tough. Sometimes your family members don't understand what you are going through. This is where a depression hotline can be very useful.

Not everyone has the money to go to a therapist. Some people are on health insurance, but not everyone is this privileged. Some people don't have the time to make an appointment because of the lifestyle in which they are living. It is not always easy to escape out of the office. You have to pick up your kids from school, and this is a part of life.

Many people don't know where to turn because they seem to feel as if nobody understands them. Often, they think that this is simply a stage and that it will soon pass. However, this is never the case, and without the love and support of those around people who are suffering, it becomes very difficult to manage one's life.

It is important not to wait until the last minute when you are desperate. Counselors are willing to help people day or night. Some folk will only make a call when they are suicidal and have nowhere else to turn. It is important to have someone to talk to when you are feeling slightly low. It will usually get worse from this point.

This can make all of the difference in the world. Children and teenagers don't always have the courage to phone someone. This especially relates to those kids who stay at home and feel that their parents are watching them. They may be depressed because they come from a dysfunctional home. However, there are other options which have become available as well and this is reassuring.

Sometimes a person may find that they need medication, and this is not something they would have thought about before. There are less expensive programs that one can get in touch with. A volunteer at a hotline will know more about this, and this is why it is to one's advantage.

Of course, budget will always come up and you may say that you can't afford a psychologist. In a case like this, a counselor will find a less expensive option for you. There is always a way out. There are many community programs which are very useful, and one can benefit from these as well.

One must not think that the support center is simply a once off affair. Phoning someone like this can really save your life. Of course, if you are in therapy already, you need to make sure you can either call your therapist or they can arrange for you to call a hotline, because you need to have this type of support.

How To Get Kids To Listen

By Christine Howard

Due to the current commitments, it is evident that you may be spending a little time with your children. Your children may, therefore, end up being more absorbed in other activities and focus less on their moral life and education. It is your responsibility as a parent to shape the lives of these kids. Therefore, you need to know how to get kids to listen.

Getting a child to listen, for example, the young ones or the adolescents is a hard activity. It is crucial to learn on improving the communication skills between you and your offspring. First of all, you need to get their attention. Make sure that their mind and ears are focused on you. You do not have to yell from across the room as there is a high possibility they will shrug their shoulders and walk away. Get their attention in a polite manner.

Use fewer words to explain what you need. It is of no use beating around the bush to explain a single instruction. Your choice of words determines how best your child takes what you are trying to elaborate. If you are giving a warning, on the reason why playing with knives is dangerous, it is more helpful explaining directly. When you use a lot of words, you might lose the concentration of the child, and they will not take the advice seriously.

As a parent, you are more experienced than the child, and because their thinking capacity is lower, you need to appreciate their point of view and later correct them. You can engage your skills into their situation by stating that you have been through the less to make the situation look less odd. They will accept their mistakes and be ready to embrace change.

Be cooperative with your children to get them to listen. Do not just shout orders as this makes them more resistant and you need to give them an opportunity to give their opinion on the issue. The cooperation between parents and children makes the life skills taught sink deeper in their minds than when a commanding voice is used.

It is important to set routines for your children. Ensuring that the routine is followed is another very demanding task. You can ensure that all instructions are followed by specifying responsibilities. In your presence, you should not let the children skip the routine for their advantage. Training a child in this manner makes it impossible to miss the rules even when you are not near.

It is important for a parent to listen to their children. As long as you want them to listen and follow, consider listening to them. They are less experienced in life hence if you ignore, they will reciprocate the behavior. It is evident that they copy what they see. Also when angry, keep calm and only give instructions after calming down.

Quality parenting should ensure that the child understands. Do not use very hard language thus making the situation complicated but rather choose simpler words. If the children lose focus, do not just stress on the main situation and walk away but repeat the guidance process at a slower rate. With these healthy tips, your children will listen to you.
