Death is coming

The closer death creeps up upon me the less I am able to understand the reasons for life or living.

Yes I have experienced a close family member dying and unlike television it takes decades to handle such a thing. To think I am going to put my family through such a thing when I finally leave is more horrific to me than the thought of death itself.

My life was and is still a learning experience but when all said and done what am I to do with all this accumulated learning over my lifetime if I just die. There is no logic or reason to this.

Long ago I became aware that the God story that is sold to the majority is just a nice story to give mankind with a message of a basic layout of how nice life could be if everyone followed these ideas. Not many in life do and if one thinks about it the good and evil structures actually depend on each other. The good that can be experienced in life is only understood as good when there is it's opposite to compare it to. This is not rocket science only common sense in reality. I am not saying we need to experience bad but understanding in it is needed to appreciate the great things many of us can have in our lives. From birth to death there are many ways mankind helps his fellow man. How many ways can you help?

8 Things About Life You Need To Know

By Queenie Ang

1. Friends Are Not Around Forever

Neither my friends at high school nor those at college stand with me after I have moved from UK to South Africa.

Friends will always come and go in your life; even though I'm back in the UK now, all my friends are in university around the country and not exactly in meeting distance. It can be a hard thing to accept, but many of the friends you spend time with now, might not be around in the next few years.

Important Lesson: There are an abundance of amazing people out there for you to meet and build relationships with. If you don't have many friends, don't stress, there are literally billions of friendship possibilities.

2. Not Every Wish Comes True

Once a DJ, I asked for nothing but some used turntables as Christmas presents. But no one answered my prayer and I had to use my own savings to buy them.

Things don't go according to your every wish: people show up late, people disappoint you, things are sold out.

Remember: Happiness lies not in how much you have got. We must learn to digest unfilled wishes. Stop wasting time mourning over unhappy happenings.

3. Many People Will Love You, but Many Will Not

Whether you are a celebrity, a charity worker or just a normal guy, there are going to be people that love you and what you do, but there's also going to be plenty people that don't like you. There are many possible reasons such as jealousy, similarities to them, or just not being someone's 'type'.

Remember: While there are people who like you, some are going to dislike you. Pay no mind to their gossiping. Stay true to yourself. Don't change yourself for their approval.

4. You Are Your Own Transformer

Life would be much easier if we could make ourselves orators by simply reading a blog or have a share of our friends' success. But your life is yours and you are the one who make decisions for yourself.

Remember: Be down-to-earth and independent. Transform your life with your own hands, not others'.

5. Failure Is Inevitable

I built more than 7 websites before I created one that actually started making me any money. I even put hundreds of hours into my own company that I actually closed down last month. Whether it is exams, projects, companies, or even the odd pub quiz, there are times when you will fail to meet your goals. As the saying goes - "Only those who are asleep make no mistakes".

Important Lesson: You can learn a lot from others, but it is your own failures that are going to teach you the most valuable lessons in life. Learn from your failures, embrace them, and use them to drive you on to success.

6. It Rains From Time To Time

On some occasions when you have your shorts on and you're ready for the beach, it's going to rain. Or, when you get to that first hole and you're ready to tee off - the clouds will open. Things aren't always going to go how you would like them to.

Remember: Not everything can be under control. Things happen out of the blue. If you can't change the situation, learn to change your attitude.

7. There May Be No Tomorrow

We are not sure of the exact day, but that day will come eventually. Who doesn't want to live as long as one wishes? But we all know it is impossible.

Remember: Seize the day. Say what you want to say now. Do what you want to do now.

8. You Can't Have The Most

You can't be the owner of the most cash, the most friends or the most fans. But it doesn't mean you are not missing anything.

Important Lesson: Just because someone has 'more', that doesn't mean they are happy. Read the biography of any celebrity and they will tell you they enjoy their process of earning money, rather than what money can do to make them happy. In other words, focus on what you love, not what the thing you love can get you.
