One thing that is so frustrating is when someone wears a label, but misrepresents everyone else wearing that same label, dragging others down. To be more specific, it sucks when people call themselves "Christians" but in all reality, they're dragging the name of Christ through the mud.
A good example of this occurred recently when a group out of California incorrectly predicted the world to end on May, 21, 2011. That day came and went, and in the following days, Harold Camping, a man who calls himself a pastor, stated he was just off by five months, and the world will end on Oct. 21, 2011.
This man and anybody who follows his lies are just giving people something to point at, laugh and say, "That's why I'm not of that faith."
There were billboards, radio commercials and all kinds of things "warning" people of the upcoming "Judgement Day" in the days leading up to May 21 events that never occurred which falsely proclaimed, "The Bible Guarantees it."Quite the contrary however. Jesus told his disciples in Mark 13:32 "But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone."
Wow!!! What a statement! Does that sound to you like a guarantee? Who does this guy think he is to have inside information like that when no even Jesus, the Son of God Himself doesn't even know? This guy's ego is way too big for his own good. This is just one example of someone dragging the name of God through the mud.
For example, look at that group from Kansas that travels around to protest at funerals. This act is completely contrary to what the Bible would have us do. We're supposed to love our neighbors, not hold up signs while yelling and screaming and making it harder for them to grieve the loss of a loved one.
Why do this anyway? What does one plan on accomplishing by protesting a funeral?
No human being is perfect, and these people are proof of that. Fortunately, Christianity isn't about people, but about Jesus Christ and having a relationship with him. It's hard to see it from this view though where there are people clouding it by claiming to know something the Bible says only God the Father Knows, and others protesting at funerals. The God I serve would never do that.
