Part 13. The Bible even asserts that we are saved by trusting and not by being good: EPH 2:8-9 For by a wonderful gift of God you have been saved through trusting in Him, it is not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by earning it or anything you can do, unless somebody should boast.
Every person is religious. Everyone has a faith and a god - each person has a belief system, their own value system and a god. ROM 6:16 Don't you know that, to whoever you give yourself to obey as a slave, so to speak, you become enslaved by that thing, whether to the incorrect you do, which leads to hell or otherwise a slave to God, to obey His call for you which will give you life forever in heaven.
So you could say that we Christians, are in a way, slaves of God. Or in the times that we live it could be better to say that 'God is our Director' What Is A GOD? Definition - the thing that holds our affection, that we are devoted to; that we give ourselves to; the thing we place most importance upon; the thing that determines or molds our value system.
We've all got a religion and a god -: Confucianism, Hinduism, popularity, fame, career, money, yourself, Islam, Buddhism, Jesus Christ, sport, sexual pleasure, television, power, Humanism (man is god of himself. Most Westerners are quite Humanist in philosophy).
We will be able to trust God He is the Ultimate Being. If then, the scientific world tells us that we know only about ten percent of all there is to know, we really know little; yet if God is the great Creator who made us and everything else, He knows it ALL. So for us to assert 'I know what life is about and I shall set my course and values' etc.. Is a little crazy, because we would have to be God with All Information to understand that how we perceive life is rightly balanced.
