Death is coming

The closer death creeps up upon me the less I am able to understand the reasons for life or living.

Yes I have experienced a close family member dying and unlike television it takes decades to handle such a thing. To think I am going to put my family through such a thing when I finally leave is more horrific to me than the thought of death itself.

My life was and is still a learning experience but when all said and done what am I to do with all this accumulated learning over my lifetime if I just die. There is no logic or reason to this.

Long ago I became aware that the God story that is sold to the majority is just a nice story to give mankind with a message of a basic layout of how nice life could be if everyone followed these ideas. Not many in life do and if one thinks about it the good and evil structures actually depend on each other. The good that can be experienced in life is only understood as good when there is it's opposite to compare it to. This is not rocket science only common sense in reality. I am not saying we need to experience bad but understanding in it is needed to appreciate the great things many of us can have in our lives. From birth to death there are many ways mankind helps his fellow man. How many ways can you help?

10 Ways To Work For A Happier Life

By Dexin Kramer

1. You might not realize it but you're very blessed. Today go and make a list of all the things that you have. If you have shelter, enough food to last for the day, and decent clothes, then you're already more prosperous than millions of people on this planet. Also, don't just write material possessions, but think also about the relationships you have, and the good experiences that you can remember.

2. Enjoy good art and music. Take a trip to the local museum, try to appreciate the culture and history of your local place. Today we are bombarded with cheap and pop media, and it's rare to savor great minds and ideas. Pick up classic books by Dickens or Dostoevsky. Listen to Bach or Mozart. Look at the paintings by Rembrandt.

3. Enjoy nature! When was the last time you went out for a nature trip? Go hiking on a mountain trail, or camping in a forest, or just lie down underneath the stars. Get away from the distractions of city living. See the magnificent beauty of the world.

4. Take a break every week. You might be a workaholic, and you want to be productive, but you're not superman you know. One principle that keeps your mind and body healthy is to just take a break on one day of the week. Recharge your juices, make it a point not to work at all during this day.

5. Be wise in your dealings with money. Greed will destroy you. Instead, think of money as a tool to love other people. Provide for your family well, and give gifts to your friends. But apart from that, it's useless to work for simply more money. You won't find your happiness in money, but you'll find it in relationships.

6. Good food has always served to enhance relationships and friendships. Why not treat your friends out to a restaurant for no reason at all except to share good laughs? Try something you haven't tasted before, like Indian or Nepali food. Spicy!

7. Don't neglect to spend time with your friends, and show your appreciation to them. Try to build long and substantial friendships, rather than lots of shallow relationships. It's better to have a few good people who will stick with you in thick and thin than be popular.

8. Invest in relationships inside your family. You only have one family, and you're stuck with them your entire life. Better to make those relationships as rich as you can make it. Respect your parents. Love your siblings. And if you have children, don't be frustrated with them but be gentle and tender-hearted.

9. Be loyal to your sweetheart. Work hard in your romantic relationship. Cheating never got anyone happiness but only scars. You'll only regret it in the end. One-time flings only make for regretful old people. But a strong marriage makes for a spectacular ending.

10. Finally but most important of all, do your best to be right with God, your creator. We have only a few short years in this earth. A hundred generations have come and gone, lived and died, and our generation won't be any different. Think about eternity. Read the Sacred Scriptures, like the gospel of John, which talk about the promise of an eternal and most joyful life.
