Death is coming

The closer death creeps up upon me the less I am able to understand the reasons for life or living.

Yes I have experienced a close family member dying and unlike television it takes decades to handle such a thing. To think I am going to put my family through such a thing when I finally leave is more horrific to me than the thought of death itself.

My life was and is still a learning experience but when all said and done what am I to do with all this accumulated learning over my lifetime if I just die. There is no logic or reason to this.

Long ago I became aware that the God story that is sold to the majority is just a nice story to give mankind with a message of a basic layout of how nice life could be if everyone followed these ideas. Not many in life do and if one thinks about it the good and evil structures actually depend on each other. The good that can be experienced in life is only understood as good when there is it's opposite to compare it to. This is not rocket science only common sense in reality. I am not saying we need to experience bad but understanding in it is needed to appreciate the great things many of us can have in our lives. From birth to death there are many ways mankind helps his fellow man. How many ways can you help?

Places Of Relaxation - Yoga Retreats

By Jack Wogan

Our minds and bodies are increasingly suffering from the negative impact of the pressures and stress of living in an overcrowded urban landscape. Physical and mental exhaustion is more and more frequent among us and we search for a haven either in nature or in other religions. One such religion is Hinduism. It is embraced by more and more people because of its philosophy (yoga) that aims at man's communion with the Supreme Being. Thus, man can find spiritual insight and tranquility. The method proposes physical and mental exercises.

This philosophy of serenity come-at-able through exercises has been central in the establishment of the new yoga retreats" - special resorts dedicated to yoga. The holiday solution is quite fit in the context of the ever more sedentary lifestyle shared by most of city dwellers all the more that it provides physical exercise. As a consequence, the fact that the tourism industry banked on yoga retreats has turned out to be advantageous both for tourists/yogis and hoteliers.

The locations of yoga retreats are strategically chosen to offer peace, quietude, and isolation. Even their name retreat" means both a secluded place and a shelter. What could more appropriate for enjoying silence interrupted only by the sounds of nature? Mental exercises in such surroundings purify the soul and clear the mind.

Pranayama (breathing exercises) can accompany yoga exercises and their most advertised effect is calming the nervous system. Professional yoga teachers are in charge with supervision of all these exercises; they are also initiated in sacred techniques, all so as to assist people to attain the balance between their body and spirit, between nature and self.

Therefore it can be stated that the most prominent function of yoga retreats is to heal. For such purpose they propose to potential holiday makers many programs and therapeutic packages. The services that make up such packages and programs are consultations by health specialists, yoga exercises, detoxification, treatments dedicated to addiction and weight loss. Alternative medicine, like ayurvedic and panchakarma medicine, is optional but worth trying. Other traditional healing techniques can also be explored. All these services work towards a philosophy of relaxation. When assimilated, we find ourselves happier, kinder, more conscious and energetic.
