Death is coming

The closer death creeps up upon me the less I am able to understand the reasons for life or living.

Yes I have experienced a close family member dying and unlike television it takes decades to handle such a thing. To think I am going to put my family through such a thing when I finally leave is more horrific to me than the thought of death itself.

My life was and is still a learning experience but when all said and done what am I to do with all this accumulated learning over my lifetime if I just die. There is no logic or reason to this.

Long ago I became aware that the God story that is sold to the majority is just a nice story to give mankind with a message of a basic layout of how nice life could be if everyone followed these ideas. Not many in life do and if one thinks about it the good and evil structures actually depend on each other. The good that can be experienced in life is only understood as good when there is it's opposite to compare it to. This is not rocket science only common sense in reality. I am not saying we need to experience bad but understanding in it is needed to appreciate the great things many of us can have in our lives. From birth to death there are many ways mankind helps his fellow man. How many ways can you help?

What Does A Psychic Do?

By Daniel Pitter

There have been many different names and titles given to those with psychic powers over the years. Some of the more commonly known names included augur, fortune tellers, and prophets. Their psychic abilities have been termed things like second sight and clairvoyance. Yet, as names and titles change the actual roles of psychics in society and the nature of their powers does not seem to change.

People who are psychic believe that they can tap deep enough into the subconscious to be able to see things beyond what the natural eye sees. Some psychics claim to be able to speak with the dead (mediums). Others believe that tarot cards can be used to predict the future.

People who do not have these powers often go to psychic readings in order to learn something about their deeper mind and life in general. It is believed that psychics are able to see deep into our psyche to access information we do not even know exists in our own minds.

The reactions to a psychic reading or any display of psychic power vary from person to person. Some people embrace the new information they discover about themselves, while others shy away or become alarmed at what they learn. It is never known what may come out when the reading first begins.

The very first known psychic lived from 1766 to 1815. Dr. Franz Antoine Mesmer has come under some scrutiny in modern days, but in his lifetime he was known as a clairvoyant with the power to heal. Exactly how powerful he actually was will never be known.

Margaret, Kate, and Leah Fox were also prominent psychics in history. The Fox sisters claimed to be able to speak to the dead. People paid to watch them perform their antics, which included objects that seemed to move on their own and mysterious rapping noises. This was all part of the 1948, Hydesville psychic movement.

At the time all of this was going on, most people refused to believe in this type of power. Even Houdini came out stating this type of activity was being faked. There were even many churches in on the action, holding services to ward off demons and communicating with the dead.

A lot of skepticism about psychic powers comes from the fact that every human has some type of precognitive ability. We commonly refer to it as instincts, but many people relate it to the power of prophecy. There have been many instances of people calling a loved one just as something really bad was happening because they sensed something was wrong. You may have had your own experiences with knowing things, such as who is on the phone before you say hello.

Also, the term dj vu has been big throughout history but is now related to events where someone may see something in a dream that really comes true.

"Mantic Arts" is another term that refers to a type of historical psychic ability. This is the practice of reading signs and messages through stones, sticks, dice, tea leaves, shells, and other objects. In history, priests were noted to read messages through the patterns made by oil when poured into water. This practice was considered dangerous and was later banned with a penalty of persecution in the Christian world.

The roots of psychic readings go way back to the beginnings of time, where they were ever present in the ancient world. It was known that the King of Egypt kept psychics always on hand as a part of the royal court. They would be consulted for major decisions and of course, they could be imprisoned or killed for giving the wrong answers to the King's problems.

During the Salem witch trials, fortune tellers and anyone else who displayed any type of extraordinary powers were murdered under the Christian belief that they were doing the bidding of the devil.

Today Psychics are widely accepted as part of society. They are prominent in large cities, as well as in books, on the radio, on television and on the internet.

Of course, there is still a lot of doubt and skepticism surrounding this type of power. While it is no longer demonized, many people still do not believe psychic powers are real.

Though a very small minority of psychics may not be sincere, you should remember that there are charlatans in every profession. There is more than ample evidence to show that the majority of psychics are genuine.

In fact, science is now proving that every human being has some level of psychic power. These powers are of varying degree, but they can be developed if you are determined.
